(and it won't let you synth if you're more than 15 skill away from the subcraft)

Geneyus tried to synth E.body at 32 clothcraft and it wouldn't let him, then he tried to synth at 33 clothcraft and it did. 33+15=48, so the clothcraft sub is 48.

Well the Gold on Hexed Hose is under 65 (Synthesis failed and crystal lost @ 50.) although I'm kicking myself for not thinking about that before I took gold to 50 :/ Is anyone in a position to figure it out?

Already did, but I tried our server only and there's only ~10 hits and most are far off from 44 gold

I'd bet a large sum of gil the sub isn't over 60. None of the confirmed subs have been over 60 since they raised the level cap.

Well, I'd like to know if it is 60 on the dot so that I could level Gold to 71. Speaking of that, if I had Smithing and Gold to 71 and then got a skill up on Hexed Hose, is there any way I could get it to take away from Smithing instead of Gold?

A similar question was asked recently, I don't think there is a way, or atleast a way anyone knows of to prioritize where the skill is eventually decreased from.

So I have a "which craft should I level?" question. My character is already an alchemist, but my girlfriends character is 0 in all skills currently. I'm quite interested in crafting with her, but not sure which one to choose. Is there a craft which has a "solid/standard" synth to make profit (like alchemy essentially is all about?) or are things like goldsmithing all about a rare HQ? Should I be crafting more to craft particular hexed gear (if this was 6 years ago I wouldn't need to ask this question as I'd have leveled the character bonecraft to make me heca+1 gear) or are the best gears almost all from drops these days? Or should I be crafting say clothcraft since she's a mage and I'll be able to make myself a lot of my high-end gear without issue?

The reason I want to craft for sure is I don't like wasting things, nor listing them all on AH, I store entire sections of my inventory to crafting materials and wait to find a use for them in a craft somewhere. I'm going to level a craft for sure, just not sure if I should do goldsmithing, bonecraft or clothcraft, or maybe something else is a better choice. I haven't really played in 4-5 years so a lot of the game has changed and I'm not fully caught up, but I want to get started on crafts.

Crafting is significantly different than 2-5 years ago. Some crafts have a big ticket item. Bonecraft has hexed jacket -1, Leathercraft has tenryu tekko -1, gold and smithing are essentially impossible to level past about 104 (lack of materials available - seriously, goldsmithing is like 7m/synth over level 106), woodworking can level to 110, but there is no point (nothing worth hq'ing at 110 that you can't at 100). Speaking as someone who has two crafts at 110 (cooking and wood), two crafts at 99/100 (smithing and cloth), and 2 others over 90 (bone/alchemy), you should probably only be crafting because you enjoy it. And if you do, pick a craft you like and level it.

So is there anything 110 clothcraft can do that's special? Sounds like Goldsmithing is even worse than it used to be as super expensive crafts, so I'll pass on that most likely, bonecraft seems a bit more interesting than I thought, though heca isn't nearly as awesome as it used to be. But not sure what bonecraft can do aside from that big ticket item and some items I don't really use, and I wouldn't want to make a craft for one gil synth, would prefer it for a synth I need myself and can make money on otherwise.

I am trying to pick a craft I like, I don't really care for leathercraft or cooking, smithing is iffy and really only suits my mains PLD, which is not his main but his 2nd job. Cloth, Bone and Gold are all interesting to me, and I partly wish I had to balls to have gone after them back in the day, though I like Alchemy fairly well, it's a nice utility craft. So I'm looking for input to make the final decision from those 3, unless by chance one of the other crafts had something special to them.

The "big ticket" goldsmithing item is Hexed Gambieras -1. These can be T1'd at 104 gold. Bonecraft has a +2 skill torque that allows you to tier items that are capped at 1 level above your current skill. With that, you can possibly get to 110 with some money. Cloth requires loads of money to make it to 110, and there is no torque so you cannot HQ while skilling up unless your incredibly lucky on a T0. There is not much money in Cloth. Leathercraft has a torque, and with it youll be able to tier the jacket if you get to 109. Smithing is similar to Gold, too expensive and only useful big ticket item is cursed breastplate -1, and cursed hauberk -1 is also still desired.

The major problem we have is all valuable materials used from 100-110 come from Legion, Provenance, Meeble Burrows and some are rare in Voidwatch. Because of the rarity in drops they have hiked up in price over the last three months.

I recommend Leather if I were you. It is your choice in the end of course.

Not much money in cloth? 110 cloth chick in my ls has 2 mythics...selling shit for 40-50m a pop.

But yeah I'd say leather easiest/best bang for the buck if you going to 110. Doesn't need super gay mats. Gold and Smithing you stop at 104. Cloth you gotta farm rare gay crap to make shit.

At 110 there are more choices for profit. If serica cloth and staghorn coral were more common then it would be worth it, or if there was a cloth torque. A couple hundred million would need to be invested to reach 110 at this point, and hexed khecks are still T0 at 110, so its all about luck.

edit: it also might be worth levelling cloth to 100+10 if you have a decent geared thief, and want to spend all day in crawlers nest farming wyrdstrand. Swith cape +1 seems to still be in decent demand for over 4 mil a pop

What would be the cheapest way for me to level cloth from 93 to 100 in today's market. Just spamin cursed Dalmatia ?

Also I have alch 100, bone 100, cloth 93. Which one would be the best time/ profit for me to focus on.

What I mean is, I'd rather not spend more than an hour a day synthing, and I'm curious. I assume making consumables with alchemy?

    93-96 Cursed Mitts
96-97 Cursed Slacks & Blessed Trousers if you can get some Galateia
97-100 Cursed Dalmatica & Blessed Bliaut if you can get some Galateia

Bonecraft and cloth are both good choices. Bone has a torque so you can T1 items while skilling, Alchemy has cursed -1 items for profit, and also a torque but requires thousands of heliodors to get to 105/106. Bone will require a lot of dragon scales. Consumables are steady money if you make them from scratch, but requires a lot of perseverance to make good money.

I'm currently level 45 Synergy. I want to synth a lvl 80 item but not sure if the level gap is too big to get any skillups. Also, has SE nerfed the skillup rate on synergy? I swear it seemed easier when i was originally started leveling it when it first came out. Also, does anyone have a quick guide to leveling goldsmithing from 97 to 104.
