It has been confirmed several times, and bgwiki mines the .dats for the sending information so it's correct. Yes, it can be sent.
Say i'm tryin to craft a gem into its HQ3 jewel. if i'm only T2 over cap, I can still get a HQ3 result, right? The level of HQ possible isn't connected to the tier over the craft cap is it?
Gah, I'm confused. Really confused. I took a break from the game, came back last autumn and didn't touch my crafting other to unlock the cap. I am 100 Cloth with specs, smock and tapestry. I also have the stall which I made with synergy. I have Megamoglification: Clothcraft. I need to get this clear in my head because I have about 100k GP which I could spend right now... and I was saving up for the Weaver's Sign but I got confused about all the mog stuff.
What's the point of the sign? Am I right in understanding that Moghancement doesn't stack with Megamoglification? If so, why is it comparatively easy to get Megamog and is there any benefit in getting the sign? How can you get Megamog and seemingly get +5 so easily? Or is megamog a combo effect which is based on all the stuff I've done before. I don't get it and I'm sure I'm missing something.
The sign only gets you an atma now. There is always the chance of them "fixing" the stall benefit to require the other items to get the +5, but its been so long now. Then again, look at chocobo blinkers, took them years and an emergency maintenance to fix them.
All you need is a stall for +5 and mega moglification. The 50k, 150k and 200k items are not beneficial for mega moglification.
The below is entirely speculative based on horrible crafting rumors and general dumbass-ness, and I have no desire to test seriously:
Spoiler: show
SE needs to revamp the crafting/mog house/KI support messages. Each item should give its own effect, or a specific effect when stacked together.
So like 15k, 50k, 150k, 200k items all in mog house would give KI Mogunification:Clothcraft, with a specific description like "You are receiving a supreme enhancement" (supreme being +7 skill, 5 for 15k synergy stall, 1 for 50k, 1 for 150k) "to your clothcraft skill and will experience a significant reduction in the loss of items from a unsuccessful synthesis attempt."
But only having 3 items, say the 15k, 50k, and 200k items could give moglification, which would change the supreme part to "superior". The 150k and 50k items could be interchangeable....You would need like 6 different mog KI, but at least it would get rid of the current trainwreck.
good lord, so much speculation will only breed misunderstanding, or worse, idiots will begin repeating it as if it's true. Continue with the stall (+5), specs (+1), smock (+1), adv support (+3) and wait for SE to release clothcraft torque.
Has anyone started testing on these new rings?
I know that Artificer's Ring and Craftmaster's Ring are both +1% (based on french and jp versions), but my question is do the effects stack, or do they cancel each other out?
IE: Is the Artificer's ring +1% to NQ synthesis or all synthesis success (including HQ)? It would take a lot of testing to figure this out, but I have been wondering since the update. It does not specifically say normal results.
Even if people had started testing it would take like a week of hours of crafting a day to find a difference that small lol
I worry about the same question as stated above. I figure for expensive. less frequent synths I'll use HQ + loss of mat ring. For little shit that I do a lot of (minnows) HQ + success.
I would have assume that the Craftmasters ring increases the rate of HQ and the Artificers ring would increase the success rate (for all synths) but it's just an assumption.
The thought that the mechanic involves determining whether a synth HQ's or not, and then goes through a process of determining it's success rate based on whether it's hq or not, is frankly doing my head in. As always, the wording of the Craftsmasters ring doesnt do anyone any favours in trying to work out what it does... If thats the cast though, a 20% decrease in break rate would usually win over a reduction in synth material losses...
They should either stack or one should be active when the other isn't though, any way I read it. I can't see any way they could cancel each other out, at worst one active when the other isnt...
The way its seemed to me from the GP item ring is that while a 1% increase in success rate doesn't seem like much, at a 95% success rate cap (or thereabouts) an increase to 96% is effectively a 20% decrease in breaks (4/100 down from 5/100) I suspect taking 2 crafts past 100 isn't a large enough sample to actually measure the difference though... I've gone anywhere from 1 break in 100 to 9 breaks in 100 levelling crafts at actual craft levels over the cap...
Please like or something....

I'm looking for a little bit of advice on leveling goldsmithing in the 50-60 range. I am currently 51.6 ish, skilling up on gold ingots to 53. At level 53, I have a choice of either i'm thinking turning all my gold ingots to gold hairpins up to 55-57 and then moving into platinum ingots or trying to do platinum ingots @ 53. I don't have any gear to enhance GS skill (specs), I do have kitron macs. Should I bit the bullet and get to at least 55 on gold hairpins? or try to do platinum ingots from 53?
I'm thinking I might just go straight into platinum ingots (from ore) at 53.. I'll break a ton at the start, but I won't loose 100s of 1000s of gil by making gold hairpins. I'm thinking that the losses will be less as I can sell the platinum ingots back at the end, which I won't be able to sell the gold hairpins.
Going to echo Kyreth here: go with the hairpins. You can desynth the hairpins into more ingots to make more hairpins, to desynth into ingots, etc. It's one of a very small number of times that you can literally reuse the same materials over and over.
Edit: also, assuming you're going to go to at least 70 for a subcraft: you're going to be needing the platinum to skillup with, so you won't be selling them to cut your loss (unless you just want to buy them back?)
Before you desynth hairpins check the price of gold ingot stacks on your server. it tends to be cheaper in the long run to just npc all hairpins instead of constantly blowing them up. if you have moghancement desynth, lightning aura and shit in your mh it might be worth it.
Not to mention the cost of all those crystals for desynth
