The Defense Down of MT did seem like it might be Tomahawk-like, but re-reading that it wore off on Antica, and other mobs without damage resistance kind of ruins that idea. If any Relic GAX user uses the logger plugin, would be nice if you could run a quick search for the string ['s defense down effect wears off.], and post a collection of mobs that were afflicted by it. Might give us some more insight into how the defense down proc works.

Not 100% sure but I think antica might have TMDA.

Edit: No, I'm sorry, they don't, I just checked. But it could have shell II if it was a PLD type or had been buffed by a nearby PLD (the first antican I found happened to have shell on, which made me think of this). Tomahawk does reduce shell the same as it does to native TMDA by mob family.

I had Sath try MT on an Imp before Ein yesterday, but the def down message didn't proc. I'm fairly certain those have MDT too? This would counter the Tomahawk defense down idea :/

I know for sure that Tomahawk works for shell, but not having WAR myself I don't know how the messages work for it. Why not just test straight-away if it works like Tomahawk? Use an evil weapon or some other mob with native TMDA, dispel any shell and stoneskin, and do Metatron > ES 1000 Needles.

Evil Weapons are 12.5% MDT, sooo it's not a tomahawk-like defense down.

If you want off the wall theories that have a small bit of basis in what's been posted, perhaps the defense down only applies when (or removes) level difference penalties exist. The cockatrice NM is listed on wiki as 74-75, but that could easily be wrong and pop at 76. Maybe go try on T steelshells. /shrug.

Yea I was surprised too... she looks so young.

The level correction thing sounds reasonable. Although the more I think about it, I recall someone did ballista testing on the defense down potency? (Which would mean it directly affects the defense rating.) Maybe it's possible it only procs on T+ mobs?

Oh, addendum to that, could be other things such as:

Player pDIF < 1.
Player Def < Mob Def.
Player pDIF < Mob pDIF.

I'd look into testing things like that, because from my point of view, you're having close to 0 procs on weaker mobs, but it's been seen quite often on higher level / harder mobs.
