I believe it was said that Hei's powers came from Bai, and that his power was only a portion of one of hers (I think they said controlling electricity was one of her powers). And I could be wrong but I think they said Hei had the power to make people contractors with the use of the meteor fragment.

Also I think the reason Hei didn't have a remuneration was because he didn't 'sign a contract' it was given to him from Bei. Which seems a little confusing since Suou has a remuneration.

It was mentioned many times in the first series that Hei was overpowered before he got his power. It's not really surprising he is still strong.


The meteorite scenes in episode 2 definitively woke up Suou's power, but it's hard to say anything more. Maybe she had latent power like her brother and friends, or maybe it's just like Sqwunk mentioned with Hei's power turning everyone into a contractor (happened in season 1 ending).

My bet would be on Hei's power, since Suou is going to get an happy ending, and it would be easier for the writter to explain her feeling and uncomplete transformation like this.

Hei was already a fucking assassin that goes along to protect Bai, probably both during mission and her remuneration (which was sleeping), which more than likely place him in a situation against a contractor even before he receive Bai's power when she disappeared/lost her body in Hell's gate...or whichever one is the south american gate.

I don't recall Hei's power having ability to turn anyone into a contractor based on the S1 ending, it's just that using the meteor fragment given to him by Amber, he can either utilize the gamma ray thing to destroy all the non contractor, or let the gamma thing destroy all the contractor, to which he chose the third option and used his power to just fuck up the device Pandora was using.

But the meteor fragment in Suou's pendant did capture Hei's power, whether Suou's bullshit rifle is a derivation of Bai's molecular manipulation or her awakened latent contractor power is another story altogether though.

I suppose the rifle could be a railgun, but hey, there is already another anime about that.

Hei's power is not technically electricity. it's the ability to manipulate and disrupt matter. electricity is the low end of his power, changing people into contractors via the gate particles is the high end.

I supose this line could be left to interpretation, or maybe it's just a mistranslation, but that's what it said in my version. That said, it does make sense considering how Bk201's power transfered once, possibly twice.

Hei gets the power from Bai more or less dying on him, and Hei lost his power by the device that should have outright killed him.

Hmm I also think it's interesting that Bai was BK201 originally, and the Hei became BK201. But they have not referred to Suou by that name yet. So I think the scenary of what happened between Bai and Hei, and Hei and Suou are vastly different.

I think the Messier codenames are given by the govt agencies and science division and we've mainly moved away from those this season, focusing on the syndicate and section 3, the reason why Suou, Shion doesn't have a codename. The astronomy building looked really abandoned so I wonder what's up with that too.

well, Pai, no not Bai! (idk what it is really, I just think Bai sounds stupid!) and Hei were both bk201, but they also had the same power. Hei got his power from her.

In the presence of "Gate Particles"(which also include the meteor fragments), Hei's powers enable him to turn people into contractors.
Imo; During that anti-contractor weapon, Hei reacted to the meteor fragment around Suou's neck, and she was changed into one, or simply had her powers unlocked thanks to contact with Hei.

well, i'm not one to say somethings 100% sure if it's not 100% sure! also, it was meant to be part of the same statement arguing why Suou wouldnt be labeled BK201, because it's a completely different star. not sure why I made it into a new paragraph.

and as far as being able to interpret it differently, there was a second set of twins shown in the scene right before the 2 stars were shown! do I think it's theirs? no, but it's a possibility! but that's just me using semantics.

I asked Cleverbot when Hei would get his powers back. It told me "Never! I killed him."

Beside, the stars were introduced by the informator's "make a wish upon that tiny tiny red star. A wish to see bk-201". It wouldnt make a lot of sense for it to be anyone.


Also, posting this made me realize Hei isnt the only one who know about Suou being the "sister". That woman seem to know there is twin, and which one is running with Hei.

I hope Suou doesnt turn out to be some ruthless killer. Her being young and still developing a personality as a younger girl seems to keep Hei in check with his "Kill or be killed" kind of attitude. The way she was pitching that glass though, makes me wonder if the contractor side of her is taking over completely.

I think they are going to build her this way until she faces her friend (probably soon). I've no idea if she will actually kill her or not, but I'm sure she is going to pick the "good" side after this, and go back to her more cheerful self.
