Do you have to 'activate' your PS3? My 360 is activated and I don't want to have to keep swapping which one is activated (360 in my room, ps3 in den/family room)

So does the disc act as a BluRay video, or a game disc? Just curious, as I've yet to see a BluRay disc make real use of the Java support.
Netflix says my disc is arriving today too. As far as activating the PS3 I didn't realize you could only have one or the other. My impression is that you can have multiple devices activated at the same time.
well I have my xbox in my room, and my brother's in the family room, and it won't let both be activated, which is an ass pain
I also got the e-mail saying my disc should show up today. I don't have an Xbox, so it's going to be a godsend not to have to run an HDMI cable from my PC to my TV whenever I want to watch a movie now.
when you find out let me know please
it may have been b/c it was two 360s then, and itll hopefully work on 360 and ps3
Just signed up for netflix, do they just send you a disc or do you have to order it. If so, how?
As stated above, I have it activated on both PS3 and 360. The quality seems worse on PS3 though.
My wife and I have been watching Dexter on 360 and went to watch it on PS3 and it was in 4:3 and looked really blurry compared to the 16:9 and sharp picture I get when watching it on 360. I certainly hope that that was a one time problem and not a sign of how things always look on the PS3 Netflix.
How up to date is Netflix when it comes to streaming movies and new releases? I brought the PS3 thing up the other day after we got to talking about Blockbuster, Red Box, and such, and he said the short time he had an account the stuff they had on site was usually old movies.
Reading peoples responses to it, it might be something to do with the connection you're getting on the PS3

SO last night I tried the disc in my PS3 and noticed that movie quality is determined by your available bandwidth... I did some tests with 'Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind' wich is listed as HD... the first time I loaded it, my TV changed to 480p and it looked below dvd quality.. I was downloading a lot of stuff so I stopped those and tried again... stopped the movie and played it again.. the screen stayed at 720p ! and it looked really good, above dvd quality...
So far I'm very satisfied with how Netflix worked this out... I think I canlive with the disc for a while
If anything my 360 picture should look worse. My PS3 is hard wired to my router and the 360 is hooked up wireless since I've never been able to get the PS3's wireless to work without destroying my entire wireless network.
Not sure why yours is going to 4:3, I watched a hands-on preview of it on Joystiq, and the first thing he streamed was Dexter, and from what I saw it wasn't 4:3
I've watched a few movies with it now, and I haven't run into any problems with it showing up as lower quality than it should.
I rather watch it on Xbox tbh, I like the Movie with friends features and party chat, plus xbox one looks more streamlined, to me the PS3 version too along time to load most simple shit
Mine looks just fine too. A lot better than I expected actually. The loading times in the UI are kind of bad but I think that's because of the disc. I don't use the UI aside from the Instant Queue though so it doesn't matter too much for me.
I use instantwatcher.com - Movies and TV to Watch Instantly on Netflix to find and add movies to my queue. If you're wondering what is being added soon use Streaming Soon on Netflix Instant Watch. They both use the Netflix API and integrate pretty well with the main Netflix site(never gave me any problems).
