Mixed Wireless Internet Signals : <

So I just recently got a new adapter (belkin) for my PC and it's confusing me.

Apparently I'm connected somehow in the way that I DO get internet, but it's slow, and tells me I'm both connected and not connected. I open the My Connections tab in the belkin utility and it doesn't show any connections.

    excuse the paint job >.>

It's always been kinda slow, but this doesn't seem right. =/ Any advice? I can give any info on specs, just ask for what.

It looks like windows is managing your adapter.. did you choose the option that allows the Belkin software to control your internet?

I'd leave it as it is personally, Windows does a far better manager of your wireless than the shitty Belkin software is.

Well, it doesn't work at all then.

I've tried selecting that option, but the setting doesn't save. The 'save settings' is disabled for whatever reason. =/

Either way, 1MBps can't be normal. It's incredibly slow, before I would have 12MBps and that was pretty decent I thought.

Completely disable the utility and use WZC (Administrative Tools -> Services -> Enable Wireless Zero Configuration).

Connect using that and see if your speed changes.
Also check your wireless card/adapter settings properties to see if you have it set to a different wireless mode. Lastly check your router. I know higher end routers have the ability to set the wireless speed.
