Download stopped early
So I was downloading a rather large file, when the download ended abruptly at around 60%. I don't want to wait for the first 60% to download again in addition to the last 40% (not to mention there's the possibility it could error again...), so I'm wondering if there's any way to continue the download from the point I'm at without having to start over.

I use Orbit Downloader: the ultra file & social media (YouTube etc..) download manager to stop/pause/resume larger files ~ Just instead of doing 'save file' or open you get the option to use Orbit d/l ~ Its also a nifty lil program for snarfing videos and music files offline
Not sure if it will help you with files already downloaded but from this point forward if you choose to d/l with Orbit it should work great~

So unless I started the download with something like that (which I didn't) I'll have to start over? :/

Are you using Firefox? Generally I can get around this if it occurs by "pausing" the download then restarting it without having to cancel and start over. Not sure if this function applies to other browsers.

Blah, I had it set so that download list automatically clears once the download is complete. And it wasn't a matter of just "stopping", the download ended early and thought it was complete (even though a good portion hadn't downloaded).

I was trying to d/l a 3gig file with firefox the other day and it constantly stopped at 1.3gigs (saying d/l complete)~ And yes I had to restart it from scratch once I remembered I had Orbit
Could probably check their help forums and see if there is a way to 'trick' Orbits into thinking it needs to resume the d/l....

Youre screwed then. Next time use torrent or a d/l manager.

True skill only comes from macro switching all your e-peen gear thru 10 pages
You should try out DAP another download manager program. I've gotten faster downloads with it than with stock browser managers.

Thanks for the suggestion. :D I guess from now on I'll be sure to use a download manager when downloading big files.

I used to use DAP a lot when I had faster internet D:
I havent bothered with it for a while though but I liked it, easy to use and wasn't ugly
