Basically what the title says. I'm trying to find a How-To on replacing a DVD drive in my dad's 360. It's been having Disc Read errors for a while now. I know MS charges like $100 to fix it and I know replacement DVD ROMs are only like $20-25, so I want to do it. Getting tired of listening to him piss and moan about it.
Currently all I can find are the basic instructions. Find out what drive you have, back up the bios or w/e it is from the original drive onto a computer, flash that info onto the new drive and install. I'm really looking for more detailed info on the backing up and flashing part of the process.
Anyone know of any good links?

If you didnt try already YouTube - replace 360 dvd drive
Might be something there.

Are you going to put CFW on the drive? You might as well if you're going to all the hassle of plugging the drive into your computer anyway.
