For once I agree with BRP, constructive criticism is a sham. If someone doesn't like something for specific reason(s) they should be able to say so, and why. Artists who can accept even the harshest criticisms of their work tend to know that the criticizers just don't like it, rather than it being bad artwork. Going 'bawww you're so mean how could you say mean stuff about what I did?!' is just asking to be coddled like a child and shows an innate unsurety about your own work. If all comments on any piece of art were nothing but good, praise for actually amazing art would be worthless.

Plus, anyone who posts here should have realized before they posted: Even if you're just 'showing people something', expect to be shut down, taken out and mercilessly ridiculed by at least 50% of posters, if not more. Always expect to get flamed, it's BG, BG don't tolerate noobery.

I'm just gonna copypasta what I said to BRP, since you obviously didn't read what I typed...

Constructive criticism is "This is okay, but I know you can do better." or, "You could use work on the anatomy of hands, try using this source...blahblahblah". It is not "OMG THIS SUCKS GTFO MY FORUM."

I'm not expecting to be coddled. And I'm not "baww"ing about anything. Several people don't like my post, and it's just whatever. Not everybody likes stuff like that. no big deal.

I think your view of what type of criticism is important, is ok, but you can do better. For example, you could consider that part of criticism is using your beliefs and emotions to pass judgment. Or you could consider the importance of political criticism, which is almost always negative and sometimes hostile.

My only intent is to...amuse.

My critique of this thread concludes that you have succeeded in the goal you set out to accomplish by making this animation.

Obviously none of you understand what I'm saying... so let me spell it out for you.

1. I don't care if you say OH MY GOD, THIS SUCKS. However, expect for me to be equally as snide and rude if you decide to do so. You can't just attack somebody, and expect to not get attacked back. Trolling and douchebaggery gets you nowhere, and it's not as hilarious as you think it is. Everybody trolls, you're not a special little snowflake.

2. Positive feedback like "wow, this is cool" is nice, but it's equally as useless as the random "THIS SUCKS" and trolling posts I get on here. So, don't think I'm AIMING to be fawned over. It doesn't matter. All I care about is sharing a stupid little blip of animation for the sake of entertainment.

3. My idea of constructive criticism aims at improvement, not being "coddled", like many of you think.
examples...

"The way you draw heads is kind of big, try this..."
"You really need work on shading, I suggest this..."
or
"The movement looks wonky at [insert part here], try to put more frames in between."


And for the last time...
