    Ok thank you.

Can MS force all the hits of a multi to crit?
(Just thought of war and axe and rampage. that could be kinda rude...)

Yes, it forces every single physical damage thing you do into a critical hit. All hits of a Penta, for instance (sig). Jumps, were you to be /DRG. Only thing I doubt is a Bash (I think Bashes give TP to a mob, are therefore physical, but can they crit?).

    Spharai/-/-/Black
    Usu/Ancient/Brutal/Hollow
    Usu/Usu/Mars/Sniper+1
    Cuch/BB/Usu/Usu

This is the set I use on birds when focus is off.

I am at work and was guessing on the taru/mithra dex but I think that my figures are pretty close.

I have 83 DEX as MNK/NIN. As a WAR/SAM I have 80 and I believe a Hume w/ DEX merits would have 74 or 75. Taru has the same DEX as a Hume, I think. I'd say Taru MNK w/o DEX merits is uh, 83?

And goddamn, that's a hell of a MNK.

Thanks Shinryuu, totally digressed from the OP for about four posts but thanks for the info.

Mnk is my 2nd main and I only really have Destroyers and doubt seriously I will every get anything better so I will just rock on with them.

415 would be doable, I imagine, with a mithra and hades for example
    Hades sainti+1 / / black tathlum
    full usu
    ancient torque, hollow earring
    2x torreador's rings
    BB
    cuchulain's

would be 415 acc for elvaan monk/nin with str merit

Mithra, DEX merits, Rajas and Destroyers would be better. :D

All normal forms of independant magic damage gives a mob tp so I don't understand how that classifies bashes as physical on its own. From what I've seen they can't crit, but either way its irrelevant really as you would be better off just allowing a normal melee swing if /thf and war main should never be using a bash anyway.

Key word to the first statement is normal because of the various exceptions like QD and final set of avatar BPs.

In regards to all the mnk discussion, why are all the "maxed" mnks refering to builds that use 2 acc rings. I was under the impression that even the jobs with the lowest melee:ws ratio (pld on HNM using atonement) were better off with rajas over a 7 acc ring. If that is the case then why is a "maxed" build using unrealistic accuracy figures.

Correct me if I'm mistaken, but the rly low dmg/hit on HNM and then the attonement numbers u can put out, wouldn't that put the melee:ws ratio far to the ws side? I know for mnk any boost to xhit only increases 30-35% of your total damage, since mnk will get about 65-70% on the DoT side.

What I meant was that spells simply give 10 TP, BPs and QDs give none... whereas physical stuff gives TP based on delay and I think Bashes fall under that category (despite being instant).

You do realize he said maxed gear before usu right? Which also means before Chuchulains, Ancient Torque, and Black Tathlum.

    Reverse engineer:

85% acc, maxed gear, spam sushi, birds....

If you have 85% acc at birds, you have 79% with focus down.

If you spam sushi, you get +15% acc at least 50% of the time.

If you have 79% acc with focus down, you have 375 total acc with base stats, gear & merits.

If you have 375 total acc, you have 348 without food (if food is used 50% of the time)

If you have 35 acc from base stats, you have 313 with only gear and merits.

If you have capped skill and capped merits, you have 30 acc from gear.

If you have 30 acc from gear, you have, for example:

    -nq kabuto
    -chivalrous chain
    -nq togi
    -a 3 acc ring
    -a byakko haidate

This is of course, as you said, before usu, cuch, ancient and black, but not before PCC, tiphia, ohat, noritsunes, Hollow or 2x nq snipers.

Of course, I presumed full merits, but then again I also allowed for only 50% sushi.

Correction made. Thanks, I knew I was slacking when I typed that and let it slide.

How the fuck does Focus add only 5% hit rate?

Focus is +30 ACC = +15% Hiterate. Its only on 2/5 mins of the time, which is actually 6% hite rate.

First I didn't say this was maxed out gear before salvage, second 85% hit rate is not the hit rate for a "maxed ou monk", and third "maxed out" mnk before salvage (which is average now) would be something like :

    - hades sainti +1
    - turban, pcc, brutal, hollow, tiphia sting
    - shura togi+1, N kotes, torx2
    - foragers's, BB, byakko, fuma

that's about 385 accuracy, so about 88% hitrate prefocus and 91% with.

Try reading what exactly, genius? Focus is 30 Accuracy. I'll freely admit that I wasn't interpreting Vodou's numbers correctly, but yours are meaningless in the extreme. Not only would Focus not contribute as little as 3% hit rate, but the argument you made is that it only contributes 3% hit rate while active.

I'd ask why you guys are even arguing with someone who seriously imagined that the regular melee attacks of Faith Baghnakhs could pull ahead of Destroyers or Spharai, but worrying about what the best gear was two years ago seems to be par for the course.

anyone posting "faith and destroyers are more or less equal", read the alla thread and disabuse yourself of your ignorance. faiths are better, and obviously so. you need only compare how much base damage and speed you lose to how much DA you get, and the answer is right there.

You are a fucking idiot and need to reread what was written and then think hard, if you still don't get it then blow you brains out because there is no hope. Nowhere does he state that its only 3% hitrate while active, normally I would be right there ready to jump up Pchan's ass every time he said something I don't agree with but that doesn't mean I would take another side when he is right.

Please stay on KI where you don't need to back up anything you say because BG doesn't suit you. The fact you are trying to say destroyers/sphari are so blatently better than faiths that it shouldn't even be a debate proves this.
