I strung shit together? Its airtight logic, assuming CNN is accurate (which compared to the sensationalism in your local news article, is at least more so than your source).

The article alleges that police came onto the scene in response to a phone call that was placed as a result of someone overhearing people reminiscing over what had recently occured. How does one reminsce about something that hasn't passed? Clearly the act had stopped by then, and if the conversation was overheard and the call was placed after the act had stopped, police could not have showed up during it. It clearly says she was found under a bench. If the cops ran up during the rape, and when they scattered she fell onto the ground off the bench, I'm pretty sure it would be reported as something along the lines of "She was found being violated by (x number of) men."

However, getting shit-faced drunk =/= giving people permission to *beat you into critical condition*. Getting type 2 diabetes can be a natural result of living an unhealthy lifestyle; getting the crap beat out of you is *not* the natural result of getting drunk.
