I finally got to play it, and hard is SO MUCH more fun than medium, it's really not that hard either except those weird crossfader spikes like the in the dizzee rascal song, crazy.

I played it at Bestbuy today and just couldn't get scratches to work... hopefully the turntable was broke and I just wasn't retarded....
it was probably broke, if you can just imagine wiki-wikiing like an actual dj that's all you have to do.
One thing that bugs me is that you can't be Deadmau5, he'd easily be the coolest character to play as, even though cool papa g is pretty ballin'
I've gotten to spend some time with it finally. It's tougher than I thought it would be, although not terribly difficult for the most part. The mixes are very well put together, even the cheap controller feels sturdy and responsive, and things like the rewind function are implemented very smoothly. Overall, the total package is put together well. Most importantly, it is very fun even to a grouchy old IIDX elitist jerk.
I know once I pick this up, I'll never be able to put it down due to it being so addictive.
Definately can't wait to finally buy this.
I am loving this game. It has some GREAT mixes. I think actually my favorite set so far (still have about 6 left) are DJ Jazzy Jeffs, surprisingly. I loathed Grandmaster Flash's crap, and the Daft Punk stuff left me wanting a bit more. Not that 8 songs wasn't enough..just wanted a little more as far as Dance music goes.
For the next game, they should keep this current formula, but definitely add some stuff like Oakenfold, Tiesto, etc.etc. Very fun though!
I couldn't get a good grip on the turntable surface during scratching movements when I demoed it at Best Buy, so that was a turnoff.
I also was NOT a fan of the Holla Back Girl mashup track they had.
I'm also not liking the price of the DLC track packs at all. This does not add up to a must buy title for me![]()
I found at first that scratching was awkward. Then I started using my thumb to hold the side when I did the motion, made it a hell of a lot easier. There's a few songs that use Holla Back Girl. They mix different parts of the song, with different songs. I agree, the DLC price kinda sucks, but in Rock Band/GH they only have one artist to pay, and with this there are 2. That's the only thing I can think of, costs more to license. I won't mind as long as there is too much. 5 or 6 bucks a week isn't going to break me.
I don't like DLC in general, so the price won't bother me until they come out with some mixes that I really have a lot of interest in. The first pack of two songs has mixes that I don't care about, so I'll pass on them.
This game is soooooo fun. I've played it multiple times at Best Buy and I really wish I had the money to dish out for this game lol. The scratching is very fun but I find moving that thing on the left side to side to be difficult and awkward. It's probably cuz I've only played it for like 30 min altogether.
I was hoping this game would have a lot more house and trance music and less RB and rap.
It'd be nice if they released a lot more house, I'd love to see some more Benassi in there among tons of others.
Plus, they should really add Deadmau5, cause he's the best.
Well I just "finished" the game. Man, it finished off really strong! I lived the Tiesto, Paul Van Dyk, Scratch Perverts, NOISIA stuff at the end was great! I wish there was more stuff of that calibur instead of some of those bad mixes. Hopefully with the DLC and already obvious sequel, they put more in.
On another note, I think this game is doing remarkably well. I don't know numbers about or anything yet, but The 2 Best Buys near me both sold of of the Renegade edition (I picked that one up) Which they got a lot of. The regular edition was selling quite well too.
hold down the blue/green for wikiwikiing, you probably just had a broken ass deck in bestbuy
this is pretty fun. a couple songs are kinda retarded though (jackson 5 and 3rd eye blind lol?).
God damnit, just lost my message, need to retype it out.
Anyway... I "beat" the game on Normal. I finished all the songs and now I moved on to Hard difficulty. WOW what a difference. Hard is so much more fun. It feels like you are doing a lot more (I guess cause you are) but it's not overwhelming. (Yet) I'm sure some of the later mixes are going to be something crazy.
On another note, I picked up the DLC. I have to say, I wasn't too sure before I bought it, but after playing them I like both of the tracks a lot. I'm not huge on 50 Cent and Mary J (actually I hate her) but the mix with Queen is pretty good. The other song is much better IMO, and both tracks are pretty long. Longer than some of the main tracks in the game. Worth 6 bucks? Eh, depends. If you're looking for some more songs, yeah. 6 Bucks every couple of weeks isn't going to break my wallet. I spend almost nothing on music anymore, so it doesn't bother me.
One last thing. Does anyone's shoulder get sore after an extended session? Cause mine does. I guess with all the scratching, I dunno.
