Not gonna lie. Thats badass.
Looks too much like a murse, ill pass. Ill continue to carry a chisel and stone tablets around with me like a real man.
it's like a fruit roll up for porn
I think a fruit roll up would be more satisfying than a roll up laptop however.
Shame that concept wont happen for at least 20 years. Our current SSD and PCB printing tech won't let us get away with that.
Shix.Brat.Etc.
This was a triumph.
Flexable LED screens and keyboards are already possible, and they way the designer 'cheats' by using the rollbar as a power/storage medium, this thing could be made tomorrow.
I guess you could fit the HD and processor and all that other crap in the rollbar to cheat it. Flexible screens do exist but the rest of the electronics in a computer do not exist that I know of in flexible form.
Not to mention if they did make it today it would be a $20k computer.... hope they figure out a cheaper way to make those flexible screens.
Each little solid block segment (it has, what, about 20 segments?) behind the screen could contain a portion of the hardware, and the screen itself could be flexible. Are there flexible capacitive touchscreens?
Good question. The only flexible screens I have seen have not been touch screens. Also good call on the little solid block segments behind the screen. Gives it structure and a place to store electronics.
Man I would love to have a lightweight giant screen like that I could draw on in photoshop.
did somebody say rolling computer
The thing rolls onto itself. The first time you're walking around and take a corner too sharply, your rolltop will hit a wall and the screen is going to bump into the chassis it's rolled against.
Also, all that shit on the bottom of your laptop is going to end up on your screen.
No bueno.
I think it's a moot point, anyway. The Macwheel will be out before the Rolltop.
