Oh god, just look at this Sphagnum Peat Moss

I'm part of the Canadian Sphagnum Peat Moss Association btw so I just love this thread

Watch out though, Sphagnum moss can potentially harbour the chronic fungal disease, sporotrichosis. Sporothrix schenckii spores enter the skin via abrasions, scratches, and small puncture wounds as a result of unprotected contact exposure to Sphagnum moss.

Well, really what you want to be doing is using MOSS over WSS because not only does it add core features and end user web parts, it also has a main strength of enabling an organization’s information to be organized and aggregated in one central web based application. However you want to be careful as it has some compatibility problems with getting a sharepoint to adhere to WCAG 1.0, so if you're using XHTML it will cause problems as MOSS uses built in controls to create markup language that XHTML won't validate due to it's stricter rules and guidelines over HTML.

What are you trying to do with it? Using MySite or stuff like BDC's? Or just learning random shit for help with SQL server stuff?

Creating a communication tool for my senior project of fourty members across all of the majors. I am team lead for the Networking majors and we have to develop the communication tool that we actually use to work together on the project.

My idea is to have centralized file sharing and editing services, preferably editible in browser. In addition, I'd like to provide some form of communication tool along side of it, email would be a basic addition but I am looking into some sort of chat/instantBBS system that could run along side.

The way I want to set it up is each major is its own department in our corporation, and we have to build a prototype of a new product. Each department gets their own section or tab in sharepoint as well as a team collaboration tab. Each department will upload their documents to their department section and be able to checkout and have a centralized place to store their project documentation. The team collaboration will be for information and documentation that the entire company should be able to access.

In short, I'm building a centralized file distribution system and communication tool.
