What? What the fuck kind of logic is this? If you're playing just for armor models, you may as well cancel your content ID and just keep your dat files to open in Model Viewer.

Final Fantasy XI has had a very specific and, for the most part, very realistic style of armor and weaponry. There are a limited number of items that are divergent from actual armor and weapons that were used by real human beings bashing one another's brains in. And then there's this stuff. The weapons are totally out of place in FFXI's style and the armor sets look like they're suffering severe schizophrenia. Practically any other set of matched armor in the game looks matched, but the medium and heavy armors here look like they were assembled from scrap iron and then painted by someone who is colorblind.

Wasn't there a screenshot of an actual football-like (soccer for all those Americans) field in the game but wasn't implemented, just like the monorail?

I know it was posted on KillingIfrit a long time ago when WotG was just released. It had an area for a goal, a midfield and was pretty large too. There was an area for the audience as well. The area was textured similarly like Oztroja Castle.

In what war do you leave major veins exposed and do you go to the frontline in a wonderbra? Or have your backside hanging out?

Some of the armour in FFXI is realistic, a lot isn't. And as it's a visual setting in a game - some people like to dress their chars up... I don't care so much but some do /shrug.

Now it could still be simple FANTASY SOCCER GO, but there's the connection between the Box art and the game that was mentioned...

Loricas, like it or not, are historical armor. As for bottoms, I assume you're talking about female characters and everyone knows that women a.) aren't really people and b.) weren't fighting on the front lines, anyhow. For every Jeanne d'Arc muscling her psychotic self into the army, there were several hundred males whose butts were covered. I'll grant that FFXI takes artistic license, but are you seriously suggesting that these new sets look well composed or in line with the style of FFXI? The comparisons to Gundam, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, World of Warcraft, and Fable should be a clue.

I manually added the humeM and Mithra armors (and part of the humeF that someone posted) so here are my lists if someone wanted to see mithra.

The heavy armors don't fit with FFXI at all, they look like they are from bloodbowl or something. The dev team is usually really anal about making everything fit into the world, these really don't fit in any way at all. Well the melee/tank ones don't anyway, I just think that very much like when they added choco racing and added lots of new armors that went with that.. this is the same. I think these are all integral parts of the football minigame thing, you wont be able to wear them in normal areas. They just don't fit at all with the ffxi world, the really heavy stuff looks like robby the robot.
