Well, if we thought they'd abandoned XI to work on XIV, we were wrong. This is an amazing amount of work.

Isn't it seven weapons and not six like everybodys saying?

5 blue'ish gold'ish weapons
Sword, Dagger, Polearm, Staff, Great Sword (no idea what they are about)

1 Black Scythe and 1 White Staff (obiasly to do with good and evil).

I agree with Tummie that it looks like the armour progresses. 36 sets of armour, 12 mage, 12 heavy and 12 light.

Three colours of red, white and black, 4 different sets on each that look similer but with bits added. (I'd say the armour is to do with the new augment system. Start of with the basic set and pick a colour, do a quest to upgrade and add and augment, again and again till you have the top look.)

I know most of this is like captian obias stuff, but wanted to share my thought.

Updated my findings with the guild aprons.

Hmm.. nope.. the bow doesnt have a version for all race..so its probably NPC only. Probably Perih Vashai.. gonna take a look in there now..

I see a theme here of one armor with a red, black, and white variation. I think that we will indeed be able to finally choose the color of our armor.

Maybe they're for that soccer field that was found in the dats. Team color + goalie/defense/mids/forwards? A new pvp system would be a "new way of obtaining items." I really hope SE isn't this vague with 14

tank gear really is kinda nice.. quadav helmet-ish, antlion jawish, the comb thing and the spiky helmet..

the head designs are all nice

I dunno, the size of the armor reminded me like something out of WoW... Some of these armor sets are kinda excessive. At least I could almost, somewhat, see someone wearing Ares and not have it be excessively huge..

if I fully upgrade the tank gear as a taru PLD, I WILL look like a football...

Um... the heavy set is all mocking the FFIII DS Knight, thought that was a known fact... that set it meant to go together visually it seems. The light armor set seems to be too, while the Mage set is just a hodgepodge of "hey is this cool? lets throw it in anyways"

EDIT: looking closer it looks like the "Upgrade 1" image of my progression could actually be the base mask and you would loose the sideburn guard after the upgrade...

I meant purely aesthetically - regardless of what is a rippoff of what, at the moment very little goes with addon gears - would be nice if more of this new gear was visually interchangeable - I will have a play about on AV etc later tonight
