NFL Week 8 : Priorities

Anyone else impressed with the David Buehler kid that's doing kickoffs/special teams for Dallas? He has 17 touchbacks (leads the league), Dallas is 3rd in the league in opponent's average starting position, plus he was on the field blocking for punt returns the last 2 games when Crayton ran back punts for touchdowns.

He looks like a monster, he benched more and ran faster than some of the linebackers/offensive linemen in the Combine, and he wasn't even required to take those tests.

The biggest difference between last years Cowboys (0 touchbacks total?) and this year is Special Teams, this kid and Joe DeCamillis are the reason why.

Actually considering Dallas was the only NFL team to not have a touchback last season, he really isn't reaching that far to be honest.

Remember, we had Parcells around here not too long ago and he beat everyone over the head with the "hidden yardage" that comes from special teams. A lot was made around here about how badly we were doing on kickoffs and allowing our opposition to gain great starting field position.

So now we have someone that can kick the damn thing out of the endzone half the time -- it's a noticeable change and something that we have been looking for around here.

Add on to that, somehow this crazy bastard is on punt coverages too.

Now I still think we drafted him far too high even though he has definitely been an asset to our team. Also the motherfucker is from USC, so it pains me we have him under contract...

He may not make headlines, but he isn't someone to be shrugged off either.
