Fair enough I tried.
Fair enough I tried.
But you can convince me on why I should read LitRPGs lol
I'd still be on team audiobook as it really adds a new layer to the book, but if you can't do it then you can't do it so fair.
As far as convincing you why you should read litrpgs....I won't try to convince you of that overall, but I will say this is the series that transcends the genre. it's just so well done because the character development is just so good and......it's not a harem book like 90% of other litrpgs out there. I'd recommend this review if you're on the fence https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0HcMIsmKOs8 because she admints that these should not be a series she likes and she still fawns over it.
I would say Dungeon Crawler Carl is very different and much better than most LitRPG unless you love the genre itself. I recommend it to anyone who enjoyed pulpy fun fiction books. There's plenty of pop culture stuff but it's nowhere near the idiocy of Ready Player One. This doesn't utilize the game (RPG I guess) part as a framework, it's an element of the story.
It's way more of a story that happens to have LitRPG elements that add to it rather than "This is a LitRPG story and everything has to do with just the RPG parts". The rest of the genre suffers from that in varying degrees.
what the hell is LitRPG
I may be oversimpifying but fantasy/sci-fi that introduces game like elements. Levels, skill points, etc.
Yeah, it doesn't sound too appealing to me as a genre but it sounds like Dungeon Crawler Carl may stand above it a bit. Will add to my list, thanks all.
not unlike the isekai genre in anime, there's a loooooot of dogshit getting pumped out but a small handful of gems too
Doors of Stone has an official release date (November 2025). https://doorsofstone.net/
edit: are we sure that's not just someone trolling? it looks a bit fishy edit 2: a LOT fishy actually
It's complete BS is what it is. Doors of stone is not being actively written and hasn't been for a long ass time. I'm not convinced it's even been started. This isn't a GRRM situation where he just doesn't seem to be able to make it work and actually has at least partly written. Rothfuss couldn't even provide a single sample chapter that people fucking paid for.
Yeah, way fake. "© 2025 Doors of Stone ", whatever that means.
Yah maybe I got trolled.
I don't think we ever see Doors or Winds bros. Spring just remains a Dream.
yeah none of that is happening ever. old heads know.
by all accounts Winds is mostly written so i imagine it comes out one way or another. Doors is actively not being written, has perhaps never been being written, and Martin very likely too old / disinterested to finish Dream before he dies so f to them tho.
I don't believe that it is mostly written
