side note, I had forgotten but apparently James Cameron got the rights to make a movie based on The Devils
editing to avoid double post, Fonda Lee has a new standalone coming out on the 9th. Last Contract of Isako.
Reading King of Ashes and the writing is excellent, but the author's name is S.A. Cosby and that feels unfortunate.

It feels like something you'd see after a content warning label.

Finished King of Ashes and goddamn the ending is a double punch to the gut. Fantastic novel and a quick read, this would make a mind-blowing season of television.

5/5 Le Guin don't miss
kinda like Harry Potter it begins a children's/YA book that ages with the audience and it's about as good as they get. darker than most, never simplified or talked down, reads even better as an adult. if you've read Le Guin before her prose / character work is exceptional as always.
read The Lathe of Heaven a couple months back after it got mentioned in another book I was reading
Eh, it's okay.
Spoiler: show
Welcome to Floor 10. Now remember crawlers: KILL! KILL! KILL!
Good luck everyone who got their copy of A Parade of Horribles.
Agreed. Murderbot was delightful as usual but the whole story didn't have much of an oomph or a big threat.
Spoiler: show
Finished last night. Then I learned the ACE books (the re-released publisher versions) have an exclusive chapter at the end of each of the books. So if you're confused as hell at the "Backstage of the Pineapple Cabaret" Part 8 at the end of A Parade of Horribles, just pretend it doesn't exist. Definitely doesn't exist to audiobook only listeners.
Allegedly two more books to go in the series. Chaos reigns supreme.
Anyone reading the new James A Corey series? I haven’t checked it out yet. I haven’t done much reading at all this year so far.
lot of people didn't like the first one as much as the Expanse but 2nd is an improvement. I liked both, fwiw, but I understand the criticism
For the most part I don't read an ongoing series (Brando sando gets an exception) so I will be waiting until its done
someone here recommended The War of the Flowers a while back and I enjoyed that, haven't read anything else by him, yet
