Tad Williams has a lot of interesting stuff in his arsenal. Memory, Sorrow, Thorn is notoriously wordy but is also an absolute classic of the genre and inspired GRRM to start ASOIAF. There's also a sequel series, a prequel, and a bridge book in the setting. Otherland is sort of sci-fi mixed with fantasy and is apparently really good but I haven't read it. I don't know much about his other stuff other than Shadowmarch is not as good as his other series. His writing has kind of a Robert Jordan quality to it where it can be quite slow but his character work is miles ahead of Jordan.

Otherland is baller as hell. Loved it. Only thing I didnt like about it was reading them as they came out was a test in patience lol...big books, long waits between. You wont have to worry about that though, grab 'em.
Memory sorrow and thorn is loooooong. I cant believe he did prequel/sequels lol. It's good though.

Finished the Laundry Files. Didn't realize I'd missed not one, but 3 books. Great series. Ending was maybe a bit too tidy for my taste, but still, good.

first book is a little rough, bear with it. if you just want to try the world out, his short novel Equoid is free on amazon. you'll never look at MLP or unicorns the same way again.

Anyone read book 1 and 2 of the Esperance trilogy? Book 3 isn't out yet but they're actually really good books.

Started reading Empire of the Wolf trilogy.
Was not expecting it to start delving a bit into eldritch horror territory. Pretty decent so far

I really liked that series. There's also a new trilogy set in that world that I believe has two books so far, I haven't checked it out but it's also supposed to be excellent.

finished how to become the evil overlord and die trying. it's isekai but it was still fun; i'm going to pick up the next one as well.
i absolutely devoured there is no anti-memetics division. existential horror at its best. so bleak.

Read There is No Antimemetics Division in a day. Great book. I felt the ending was missing a little something, but the hell if I could guess at what.

Finally finished the first of the Robin Hobb trilogy.
I got about 5 pages into the Ships and called it a night. Not because anything was wrong with it, but because I had spent 3 hours getting to the end of the last book.
Dunno how I'll top that; solid, and thanks to the people here who got me to pick it up.

I've got 6 credits with Audible that will expire in a couple of weeks. Any suggestions on books that are particularly good as audiobooks? (I often use Project Hail Mary as an example of one done really well.)
I already have Project Hail Mary, The Martian, all of Dungeon Crawler Carl, The Tainted Cup, and the Silo trilogy. I was considering possibly The Expanse or The Dark Forest & Death's End.
