I also love the cat hiding logic - as long as their head's hidden they must be invisible... the foot of cat tail swooshing out of the hidey hole doesn't in any way give them away at all... or the suspicious cat-shaped lump under the rug.
It's funny cause it's true. Our little one, Meatball is a feral kitten that we adopted. He's getting bigger now and he terrorizes the other two cats we have Mia and Charlie. After Charlie has had enough he beats him down. Mia runs away and hisses. We were watching Transformers 2 last night and the mini Decepticons in the kitchen are the robot equivalent of Meatball. We've gone through two shower curtains so far because he will leap up as high as he can and slide down them.

He is also causing Mia to pee on the floor. Any rug around, she pees on now. We're afraid to take the rug out of the living room because we recently got a new couch and chair. I don't want her peeing on either of those. She's also monumentally stupid. When she was little she had a fever that baked her brain. So normal deterents don't work with her.

    Stupid kitties.

Not to sure, but it could be that your kitty is a diabetic. Does she drink a lot of water as well? I found that out with my cat because she was spending most of her time sitting by the water bowl and was peeing on everything because she couldn't hold it. Or could be that she doesn't like the kind of litter you are using or you don't clean it out enough. Just a thought.

Didn't fully read, but we have two males. One which for 3-4 weeks on a rampage urinating by the door of our place, selective areas. We had no clue what was up. Litterbox cleaned 2 times a day, well cleaned living quarters.

After a few weeks we gave up and went to the vet. Our male had urinary blockage. Vet said its common for cats to do these weird behaviors to show their owners something is out of line, or that it was too painful for the cat to enter the litterbox to constantly try to pass (when in fact the cat could not).

The urinary blockage was caused by their old food (Purina Cat chow), due to high mineral content. Put him on some strong antibiotics to prevent infection, along with some other medication to break down the crystals in his tract. Then switched immediately to urinary-safe formula. Never had the problem since.

As for females, this is highly uncommon from what I know. So we left them on the Purina Cat chow (even if we wanted to change our females food, it would be damn near impossible since shes so picky, she will literally starve herself if she doesn't get what she has been fed since a kitten (Kitten chow and Cat chow are almost identical formulas).

    Just some food for thought.

Nah Celestial, she eats normally. We think it's a revenge thing cause she no longer pee's on the bed, and really only seems to target the comforter if it falls off the bed. The two of them eat normally (i.e. if the bowl is empty for more then 30 seconds, we starve them and are the most evil owners ever), and drink normally as well.

Alfie gets grumpy sometimes when we confine him to the upstairs area where his box is, we take the food and water up when he's downstairs roaming cause he drinks, fills his bladder, then pours it out behind the table in the kitchen cause going allll the way upstairs to the litterbox is way too hard when he can just use the tile floor right by the food.

That's just due to him getting older though, and walking upstairs with a full bladder isn't something he feels is necessary since we've never ACTUALLY caught him in the act of pissing back there to discourage him.

I compromise by putting Reggies food on a chair so he can hop up to eat/drink, but Alfie doesn't think to check up there, and heads back upstairs, winding up pissing in the litter box, or at worst the easily cleaned wood floor in the storage room where the box is.

He also demonstrates the hiding logic though, occasionally he will get out of the impromptu barricades I set up at the top of the stairs so he can roam around with us, just not downstairs unsupervised, and if caught he dashes to the same spots.

Under the couch with a foot or tail hanging out, or in the shadow behind a table in the corner where he feels invisible.

He's always amazed when I walk right over to where he is and scoop him up, then just quietly accepts that he got caught.

Gotta love him though, neutered as a kitten + affectionate temperament anyways = he worships me and my gf the same way kittens worship momma.

With the psychopathic tripod it's definitely a revenge thing the weeing - she does it if she's been left alone for a few hours, or if she's not had her required daily rota of cuddles (trouble is HER idea of an acceptable amount is about 24 hour's worth, double if there are two human pets around and available) etc etc.

She's such an unashamed cuddleslut though - hates my mother with a passion, loves my partner's mum and anyone gullible enough to fall for the "I'm a cripple, adore me, look at my amputation stump aren't I cute" routine... have to search guests' bags when they leave to make sure they're not trying to abduct her because they all fall for her charms.

Yep, the boss of this house is definitely furry and three-legged.
