The other day I installed Borderlands, and though I should have just let it be, I have to mess things up. The 'install' was quick, but afterwards there was an 'extraction' that popped up that took maybe 10-15 minutes, and closed when it was done. However, the problem I ran into was I couldnt FOR THE LIFE OF ME find its install path, and windows search was being a jerk and couldn't find it, and google was pulling no results- it was hugely frustrating to have such a minor problem stopping me.
So I uninstalled!
The idea was that, upon reinstalling, I could pay attention to where the damned thing was actually installing. I tried to reinstall, but what happens now is that the quick 'install' will finish, and InstallShield keeps a little instance open (clickable at the bottom of the screen) but nothing actually happens. The computer lags like junk when this is open (so I can't really do much while waiting for it) but nothing ever appears or finishes- even when leaving it for an hour or two. I've tried reinstalling/uninstalling multiple times, I've deleted my entire temp folder, but I can not get the stupid extraction thing to finish; and if I try to play the game, it just errors out on me.
Anyone have some ideas? I imagine finding a way to completely uninstall (remove from registry and all?) may fix it, but I'm not quite sure. I'm on vista64 bit; someone halp, haven't been able to play it at all yetThanks in advance.
