Optimal cruise locations for a couple.

Sooo Ive never been on a cruise, girlfriend of 6 months has been on a couple, so Im interested if anyone would know a good spot to go in the middle of November. (her birthday.) We're alil older, 27 so Im not interested in any place too crazy, just somewhere nice to drink, gamble and relaaxxx most of all.

Also any good booking websites that have good values. Im interested moreso in just the cruise, not interested in staying anywhere in a hotel, etc. Though if you have any recommendations on places/sites to stop for a night, I'd be inclined to do that. Also whats a good time to book them, I heard like a week ahead of time because they're trying to fill spots.

Money isnt a HUGE issue, I just want it to be nice with good service...nothing ghetto or outright cheap. (I dont wanna come back wishing I never went).

The only cruise I've been on was to the Caribbeans back when I was about 15~. There's also Bermuda or the Bahamas. I looked for a couple sites(Hi google lol) seems like there's a couple good ones that are just cruises

Cruise from Philadelphia Pennsylvania - Royal Caribbean Cruises departing from PA

Philadelphia Cruises - see a list of All Cruises from Philadelphia PA for the next year - Port Information

are two of the ones I found.

I've been on two cruises, 12 day in Europe, and a 7 day in the Carribbean. I took the Europe one second, and realized that cruises are better when you don't feel the need to see something. Seeing ruins is fun, but it's nicer when you aren't rushed.

I would do a carribbean type thing again because most of the daily activities are relaxed and if you do end up drinking a bit much one night, you can just walk off the boat and still enjoy whatever island you are on. A lot of the port towns we stopped at were a drop off where you would take a bus or train to the main attraction (Pisa, Pompeii, Rome etc.

Overall cruise experiences are meant to make one feel grander than they really are, which is cool if you're into that. I met a guy from Louisiana who booked a week before the cruise and got a great deal, but that also means you have to be really flexible with your schedule. If you two are working and are blocking off a set time, you will probably want to book earlier so you are guaranteed to maximize your time off. If you wait till the last minute, you are also at the mercy of whatever is available at that time. The guy was there to gamble, so he didn't really care where the boat actually went.

Wasn't trying to insult, just said what I used lol. Most I found were about 350 up to abouot 700 for each person for a 3-5 day Caribbean cruise gonna keep looking though to see if I can find something better. How long would you prefer it be like right at a week or 4-6 days~?

If you wanna gamble look for something that goes to Grand Bahama Island. The Atlantis Hotel and Casino is there and it is quite an awesome place. There are a bunch of gambling areas and bars there, and it even has a pretty nice aquarium thats worth checking out.

I took a 6 day cruise for my honeymoon that stopped there and it was definitely the best stop by far. We paid about $900 each (Royal Caribbean) but we also booked the best room selection available. It was worth every penny.

I dont remember what time of the year they went, perhaps november isn't a good month for it?

But yeah, if I could afford a cruise I'd go to Alaska in a heartbeat. Damn I miss that place.

Cruises suck, save yourself the headache. I know it sounds really fun and neat, but there is nothing fun and neat about spending an extended period of time in a confined space where you can only go so far and do so much. If you insist on going, get on a carnival cruise, it caters a bit better to the younger crowds than the others.

Just spend the few extra bucks and fly out to Europe.

Iv been to a number of cruises and have to say that trips to the Caribbean islands are the most fun. Try to make sure that St. Thomas and/or St. Marteen are some of the islands that the ship is going to stop at. Especially St. Marteen.

Unless you and your partner don't mind flying to Europe, in which case I'd recommend a cruise of the North Sea. Very romantic scenery and locations (Ireland, Scotland, France, Norway, etc.)!

Plus you won't be tempted to look at other chicks in bikinis in these two locations!

I wouldn't recommend Norwegian Cruise Lines (NCL) unless you're into the upper-20's mid-30's crowd in the bars/clubs on board. They're really for "younger" adults and therefore don't have the service that other cruise lines offer.

Holland-America is top-notch cruise line in terms of service and amenities. I wouldn't recommend any other cruise line over Holland-America and I've taken cruises on pretty much all of the major ones (except Royal Caribbean). They have excellent food options and great casinos too.

You can likely find a Holland-America cruise for Alaska in November but be warned that it's going to be cold (30 degrees average). Probably the same scenario with the North Sea cruises, too, but that's part of the fun!

If you're going to fly to Europe, I wouldn't take a cruise, you'll miss out on what European cities have to offer.

Well, you could certainly do both. Cruises often leave from Dover, England, which is about an hour's drive from London. So, you could spend a few days in London first and then hop on a cruise line.

There are a few important cities that you'll visit on a North Sea cruise, like Oslo and Amsterdam, and you'll have the opportunity to experience them on a Holland-America cruise for sure.

Amsterdam is definitely a place I would want to spend at least one night in, and there are lots of cities in Europe that fit that category. There were many places on my cruise in Europe where I wished I could just spend the night and check out the vibe of the city after dark, that is the big drawback of cruises.

When you go island hopping, you don't get that sense.

I've heard that you can get cross-Atlantic cruises off-season at really good prices. They go out of Miami, across to the Maldives, and into the Mediterranean. You do a lot of the port cities through the Mediterranean and around Spain, France, Holland, and sometimes into Scandanavia. Then you fly back to North America. I think it looks like a lot of fun.

Took an 11-day cruise around Italy last year, really is a beautiful place, and we spent some time in some great cities. Florence is phenomenal.

That being said, I've never been about the destinations for the cruise, I've always had much more fun on the ship itself. It's a floating party at night, and it's a ton of fun. Always gone single though, so IDK if that's helpful at all to you...

Also saying that this is perfect for couples. If you are going to go to a place like Europe, as a couple, you need to go to the cities like mentioned. Cruises in the Caribbean seem pointless to me, hot weather and beaches - which you can have on a normal/cheaper vacation just to the beach itself and without the boat.

    Alaska will be an experience.

Going on a cruise anywhere with Somalian pirates would be your best bet.

If you're really persistent on taking one, don't go on a Disney cruise.

    Alaska in November? Uh, no.

St. Thomas is amazing if you can afford it.

Also cruise or not, Hawaii's always good when you're after warmth and water.
