Anyone possibly have the last patch in some sort of D/Lable form? My internet here hates FFXI's patch utility sometimes, and I D/L at the slowest pace.

.
He wants like a rar/zip/whatever of the latest patch from a different source apart from Playonline/SE.
I can't help you here, but I wanted to help clarify
There was a point in time during which trying to download patches with Windower would make the POL client crawl (this is no longer the case, however). The download would rarely gain any progress and usually the Task Manager would be needed to shut down the POL client. I had to kill POL and open non-Windower POL to download patches many times in the past when a version update (POL or FFXI) caught me off guard. This is possibly what Chiyio was referring to.
Basically thats the reason
I have the same problem. I've even gotten to nearly finished and gotten an error, forcing me to start over, twice. A download would be very much appreciated.
Don't normally bump topics, But I can't seem to find a alternative place to download this last update anywhere. Can anyone at least point me in the right direction?

bump on this again, or at least a faster way to dl the update. Its just slowwwwww. (I think i remember some people mentioning someway to make the DL go at hyperspeed or something, but I just can't remember.
I'm pretty sure what Limlight is talking about is this:
Before logging in (or log out if you've already started logging in), on the left hand menus panel, there should be a tab for "Check Files" or something of the like. When that loads up, there will be a drop box where you can select what you want to check files for. I believe it's default is PlayOnline Viewer. Change this to Final Fantasy XI and begin the file check. This will take a bit while it checks all your game files. Afterward, any out of place, missing, or altered (this includes DAT swaps and the like, so you'll need to replace these later) files will be replaced with fresh files.
For some, this is a faster way of updating. Others, not so much. Hope this helps!
