Wristwatch suggestions?

So, looking to buy a good watch after only using my cell phone as a watch for around 4 years now after my old Fossil watch died.

Anyone got any recommendations? Only things I want are a metal band, not digital, and preferably under $200.

Should be able to buy another Fossil watch for around 100~200, your options are quite limited though.

Also, what type of a watch are you looking for? Sports? Casual? Professional?

Its always wise to invest on a good watch, like an entry level Tag Heuer with stainless steel stuff, etc.. I bought one back in...2001 or 2002 for 600~ bucks with my first salary, never caused me any problems so far and will probably be using it for a while still. Goes very well w/ casual&business dress. I dropped it countless of times to rough sufaces and it doesnt even have a single visible scratch.

It is one of the most important accessories for a man so choose wisely.

Fossil > ESQ Swiss > Citizen (I highly recommend the Titanium Eco-guard or whatever its called, its amazing to look at, no batteries, has Titanium...) > Movado, starting from cheapest. I've worn all and I love all of them. If you're in a financial situation where a Movado is an option (you can pick up some for 500-1k if you don't go top-end and find a good jeweler that you can haggle down a bit)

I'm in love with Movados, watches are something that just strangely interest me and I'll walk up to people all the time to comment on their watch, ask about where they got it / how much, etc. Post what you decide!

Love my fossils, i have a nice black metal band one with a huge blue head, no numbers though just some dots at 12/3/6/9 which is a little bit of a bother sometimes, otherwise always love my fossil watches

you don't buy a movado for its investment value or to hand down to your son and his son and his son, that's what patek and other swiss watches are for

movado is simple and suits my aesthetics, I've wanted one since I was 14 (still can't quite justify 1k+ on a watch though)

Check craigslist, they go for like 1-200 used. At 1k they are definitely over priced, but since they are mass produced, the price drops significantly and people are often upset at how little they can get for them.

My buddy used to work at a pawn shop, and he used to buy them himself off of people when the shop would offer $50.

Hm. Do professional people care what type of watch men wear? Because, as a girl, I can honestly say I've never been like, "damn his watch is fly" and I don't think I ever would. Some of them do look cool, but they don't make me more interested in a guy if he has one on, nor is it something that I actually take time to look for if they're wearing one.
Why is it considered the most important accessory?? I'd just get an iphone, looks cooler than a watch and does more stuff for less money.

A classy watch with something like a nice suit can really add to the suit and the whole look. Something like a super shitty watch added in with nice clothes just makes everything look fucking terrible imo. I've gotten a surprising amount of comments on my watches over the years, but mostly I just have mine because I like it more than my phone for time-telling. Seems stupid I know, but some people just like watches.

A nice watch always feel good, like a nice car, like a nice suit, like a nice pair of shoes. And there are plenty of girls who drop panties when they see the crown where the XII should be.
