Good quality for the right price. they are going to be along the lines of classy not sporty or some of the other garbage shown in this thread.

Does anyone know if a reputable watchmaker uses tungsten/tungsten carbide for their watches/bands? I've looked around but I've not seen any. I've always been partial to titanium because it's light but after wearing my Citizen for 8 years it's dinged and scratched to all hell. I figure if I'm going to a heavier watch it'd be nice to have something invincible like tungsten.

I wore watches for years, nice watches. Now I don't and I couldn't be any happier. When you have a watch, you unknowingly become engulfed in time. You begin to schedule yourself, and you constantly check it. Many people become encapsulated by time and they never know it. I never knew it until I had read an article or book or something about people of the western world starting to not wear watches because of the limits and stress you put on yourself with one. I found that I was constantly looking at my watch, thinking, "I need to finish this by "x:xx", or, I need to get to the store and get back by "x:xx", etc and so on. Now, I don't wear a watch, I don't consume myself with time, and I rarely ever look at my cellphone or a clock. We have one clock in our entire house, and that's the alarm clock upstairs. Freedom, love it.

    I do have this though...

More of a GPS and pacing tool though, I just wear it when running.

I wore a watch and I'm late to everything. Most of my watches don't even have the correct time on them, I use my phone for a clock lol.

Damn this thread. The materialist in me is starting to crave a watch after 16 years of not wearing one.

^This. I took the plunge yesterday and invested in a nice Michael Kors watch:

Bout £175. My bfs sister has the white version with the massive face but i prefer this one.

On the topic of watches, my bf made a ridiculous purchase while we were in the States.. :
