I've had this for at least 6 years now. Used to arrive at school every day at around 10-11am. Got to the point where I would get up and turn my alarm clock off, go back to bed and not remember a thing. And when I want to go to sleep early to get up for something, I can't. I can only fall asleep when I'm pretty much exhausted and about to collapse from sleep deprivation.

@shoj, i realized that other people waking me up is 1,000x more effective than my alarm clock, which sucks because its really hard to find other people that will wake you up. i wish every night i could get to sleep as easy as i do when i stay awake for 24+ hours. closest i get to that is supermanning a bowl to myself in one or two hits. stoner sleep sucks though cause you dream high and get all scared and wake up panicky
Yeah the only times I made it to school on time I'd stayed awake all night, then I'd get really tired in school, fell asleep in english class once. People keep telling me to take sleeping pills but I don't want to get hooked and become dependent on that shit.
sleeping pills arent that bad tbh, so long as you use them responsibly to reset your sleep cycle. the addiction is built in on purpose for pill popping insomniacs because of the money involved. the problem is that they are hard as FUCK to shake. you wake up really tired and stay that way for a while. sometimes it isnt even worth the trouble if you dont have 10 hours to spend sleeping.
after this semester im setting up my classes to keep me awake and asleep at the right times so that i dont end up deprived.

and yeah my bf needs sleeping tablets -- he just takes 1/4 of one every second day to make sure he gets at least 1 good night's sleep every couple of days... he's seeing a counsellor though now to see if he can kick the insomnia.
The counsellor suggested:
No caffeine after 3pm
No computer for 1hr before bed
Just use your bed for sleep & sex
and the general "eat well, drink lots of water, get exercise" etc. stuff
