You would have to sync to your friend who stands at the zone, you are correct. Neither person would gain experience points that way. If the designee is out of range no one gains experience. If you were the target, you would. But yeah I do agree with most saying this is useless. But it has its uses if you are newer and without a high level character. Depends on how you manage your time within the game. Everyone is different. Technically you wouldn't need two accounts/friend/friend's account if you abuse trial accounts and just wanted to farm something lvl 10+ somewhere.

Experience Points (From Wiki)

While Level Sync is active, players will receive 100% of the experience points they are eligible to obtain at their reduced level. Experience will not be gained, however, should any of the following occur:

* The designee is unconscious when an enemy is defeated.
* The designee is too far from the battle to receive experience.
* The designee has not completed their limit break quest and is unable to gain further experience.

The amount of experience lost when rendered unconscious will be based upon the player's level after Level Sync is in place.

If the designee levels up or down while Level Sync is in effect, the synchronized level will automatically be updated for all party members.

Could always have a main Thief TH2+ sync down to something you need to farm where that monster you're farming is easy prey in any area as well.

If your syncing down to lvl 10, you become lvl 10 and don't even have TH1 job trait.

Even with syncing down, I'm almost sure if its crystals being what you want to farm, searching around(looking up) a zone with EP elementals you can kill would get your more crystals faster, especially assuming you at least have TH1 from /thf.

Uhh... I think he's also implying that you can farm beastmen seals this way too if I'm not mistaken?

Could be a really cheap trick he discovered to getting seals. Not quite as bad as Salvage duping, but it smells fishy nonetheless.

Right, because getting Beastmen Seals faster (which are hardly worth anything these days anyway) is definitely comparable to duping some of the best items in the game that happen to also have the worst drop rates in the game.
