Exactly my point.
Why put other people down, why not give them advice on where to get the information they are seeking instead of just calling them ignorant. Obviously they are asking for a reason. If people would stop putting down others for not knowing every single aspect of this game just because its posted somewhere on the internet and they haven't found it, and instead pointed out where to find it, these threads wouldn't have 50+ post of random crap from people like you who add absolutely nothing to it. If you have a site Both he and i could access to see the testing that's "out there" please post the site, instead of just making people like this guy have a headache over getting no answers again and again. Put some good information on this site, instead of stupid remarks that have nothing to of with what hes asking.
Heres an example of another thread that just goes no where. Alkalurops vs. HQ Staves - Killing Ifrit - a Final Fantasy community
I did find a few things that MIGHT help, dont know Here they are:
I see no reason for it to forever be a mystery, make land rate of sleep 2 (can be any spell) 50%~ weaponless, try it again with staff and HQ staff and record results, then try the same at 75% (so you don't cap at 95% if stave gives +15%) to check whether, like melee accuracy, the formula changes after 75% and take the results. 1000 casts for each would pretty much make it undoubtable as to what Accuracy staves give. No as for casting a spell on a mob 3000 times, I'll leave it to someone else, I was happy with the results of what I think was 200 casts.
EDIT:
Ok. First, honestly, I don't know what people mean when they say +15% magic accuracy. I do believe that there is a hidden magic accuracy stat, and that magic skill, stats are converted into it but there is no way to measure it so idk what 15% mac means. What is easy to test however is the % increase from non resisted spells. Sleep 100 times w/o staff, 100 times with staff and observe.
Now here are some decent tests I made on pudding. They resist sleep a bit (and a lot if you don't use appropriate gear). Keep in mind that I count partial resists as not resisted.
No staff, base skill=322 enfeebling, minor stat bonus (+0 INT +7MND) => 47.9% (500+ sleeps I)
HQ staff, base skill=322 enfeebling,minor stats bonus => 63% (300 sleeps I)
No staff, base skill 322 , +22 INT => 54.4% (500+)
No staff, base skill 322 , +12 mac, no stats bonus => 56.5% (500+)
No staff, base skill 322 , +11 skill ( = 333 total), no stats => 52.33% (500+)
- Notice that the HQ staff adds 15% more success (63%=47.9%+15.1%)
- Notice that 1 macc adds 0.71% so 20 macc should add 14.3%, assuming everything grows linearly. And no I don't have +20 mac gear avilable to test it. This is extrapolation. Especially if I want to keep 322 base skill.
- Notice that 2 INT add 0.59% so 10 INT should add 2.95% (extrapolation => MND and CHR work the same for related spells ...)
- Notice that 1 skill adds 0.40%
- So basically 1 mac >2 INT > 1 skill
Note : Flans have 89 INT, and I'm always below this level even with the +22 INT, being elvaan RDM/BLM with 64 INT. Keep in mind that due to the low # of sleeps the margin of error should be rather high but this should give an idea ...
So if everything is linear, you can add the accuracy from 20 mac and 10 INT and you get 14.3% +2.95%=17.25% vs 15.1% from HQ staff. Now ... there is some margin of error so don't take this test as "Alkalurops beats HQ staff 100%".
Had a response of this though: "A margin of error" is a massive understatement. Flans have a wide level-range, so to attempt to pinpoint the INT of one of them is faulty in its own. And as October said, +15.1% success rate doesn't mean +15% Magic Accuracy.
Until we know the base value of a player's innate magic accuracy, tests like these are pointless.
Percentages mean jack shit if you don't know what they're percentages of.
This is from that site that i posted previously
The rest of that thread is just random shit and people saying random stupid things about nothing.
Another: Alkalurops
For max accuracy it does not compete with NQ or HQ staves. However it is a good potency Staff, Of course from a RDM perspective where potency is key, Id rather stick with a club/shiield.
It is a nice staff however for those middle of the road mobs that you can stick things but need a bit more ACC. Overall I would rank it as a B rank weapon, not overly the best but can help out if you have it.
Everything that i read says "no its not better" however i still cant find any Testing that PROVES it, just Hearsay and what people believe to be true. I would recommend just getting yourself a Alky and determining if you feel its helping or not. I have it for sleeping/elegy's, but that's my preference, Others find that it doesnt help, it all depends on the person/gear/merits/character type i suppose. Good luck![]()
I'll be constructive:
Pretty sure Magic Accuracy landing rate is capped at 95% meaning you would miss 1/20 on average and going 1/50-60 average is impossible.As opposed to HQ staves where i would miss about 1/10 or so elegy's, i miss around 1/50-60 now.
Going off a chain 150 i got 2 resists. SE has this game messed up a bit anyone can admit that. There's too many variables. Doesn't change what i have an haven't seen and doesn't make anything more or less possible. That's like telling me there's not way possible i can ever hit a 800 nuke on RDM. With the right mobs/conditions you could. At the end of this conversation i still stand by what i have said and observed. My resist rates are reduced for my character. Whether it affects others or not is not determined by me. I just gave examples of what i have seen personally with my character. I personally feel that Alk is better for me and i have seen greater results with it then with HQ staves. I'm sure there are others who have the opposite results, if they do then its not best for them to use Alk.
What you are saying is that Alkalurops increases your landing rate by 2.5 to 3 times over a HQ stave, it is illogical and wrong however much you believe it.
yeah, there have been merit pts where my elegy wasn't resisted the entire time. I suppose elegy could be lumped in with lullaby and those rare lullaby resists would count toward the elegy rate though. But meriting on any non-bst mamools it's not rare to have just 1-2 (or in some cases no) resists on elegy during a merit pt.
edit: that was with hq staff. Not a fan of alk.
So Alk is kinda like a gjallerhorn for your main, IE: won't boost the majority of songs, but sure as hell saves some inventory space!
Yeah, I was kinda grasping at straws on that one.
