So I purchased my 2007 Mazda RX-8 Brand new Jan. 1, 2008. Looked amazing at the time I bought it, carfax came up negative, which I expected for it being a new car.

About a year later a dumb kid backed into my car and I got it repaired, only the trunk and trunk lid were replaced and repainted. While the car was at the body shop getting repaired the mechanic noted that the driver side door was losing its color. It looked as if the paint on the door handle and about an inch to either side of the handle was coming off. He told me it appeared as if the door had been worked on before, and I have not worked on it, so only other possible explanation is that the dealership did without notifying me. Well the door is getting worse and what looks to be like key markings are slowly coming through the paint. Well I use my keyless entry all the time, never have used the key. So clearly something is going on with the paint on the driver side door.

So I take it back to the Mazda dealership and show them this. Even then they told me it had appeared the driver side door had been worked on. Well they looked up and saw my car had been in an accident. I showed them the notarized copy of the insurance claim stating exactly which panels had been repaired. Nothing even remotely close to the door had been touched. Now they're refusing to work on the car saying that I, myself, have worked on that driver side door.

It honestly looks like shit and I want to get it taken care of. Any ideas about how I can go about doing this?
