Skeletons aside, I just hope humans are one day capable of traveling from one supercluster major intersection of filaments to the next within a single lifetime. Wonder who the first person to traverse the nearest void will be, rather than just following the filament down to the next intersection.

That's a good question, I personally would love to give it a go. Suicide mission or not I would be honored to try. I'd like to fund my fellow negro, Dr. Ronald Mallett and get his time machine off of the ground. I have some interesting idea on the passing of time if we were to hypothetically be able to travel at the speed of light, although I don't see that happening in the present or at any point in the future as long as mass and that pesky "infinite energy" problem exists.

Back to Dr. Mallett for a second, if you haven't seen him or any of his work it is simply amazing. Check out youtube or Google him for reference.

That Mallet guy is either a fake, or a straight up thief. Emmett Lathrop Brown invented the time machine way back in 1985.

You see god's brain huh... I see that everything was once part of the same highly symmetric object.

Also: if you gave me an appropriately capable (resilient, self-repairing, FTL enabled) starship as a body to store my awareness in, I'll go explore a void at some point. After I go see what the hell The Great Attractor is.

Once cyborgs are possible, we would definitely be able to explore the universe... at an incredibly slow rate.

Or we could create AI so intelligent that they mimic mankind, give them a matrix-in-a-box, and toss the whole thing into the universe to float around. Maybe we could let them peek at space now and then, too.

Would have to be much faster than the SG:U ship, talking hundreds of thousands of light years per hour or more.

The Great Attractor would be the first landmark if I went exploring, but it is 150 million light years away.

Technically, ftl travel doesn't matter, unless you want to come back on Earth badly after.

Yeah, filamented universe is nothing news...well, it's a few years old now.

Both picture you posted are really amazing on their own.I get dizzy looking at them, because they are both beyond my comprehension (the brain and everything it involve, and the universe).

Skeleton isn't that bad of a term to use, provided you're thinking purely of the human skeleton -

    1. Anatomy, Zoology. the bones of a human or an animal considered as a whole, together forming the framework of the body.
    2. any of various structures forming a rigid framework in an invertebrate.
    3. an emaciated person or animal.
    4. a supporting framework.
    5. an outline, as of a literary work: the skeleton of the plot.
    6. something reduced to its essential parts.
Although I agree with the sentiment, public perception of the word skeleton would have many people reading said article thinking we're in the body of "god".
