I hate this thread, and all of its pretty pictures. =( I keep going back and staring at the torrent link... I just haven't totally been swayed yet, though I am damn close.

no brainer indeed... I just would worry about the same thing that happened to a lot of us playing Chinese Aion to NA Aion. Burnout well before our time because of the repetition of leveling. Although... game looks awesome. I read somewhere they had planned on NA beta starting around 3 months after Japanese release. Has anyone heard of a modified timeline? Since the the earthquake had to change some of that.

Closed beta is scheduled to start in Summer so a couple months away now if you want to hold out still. I have nothing against playing the Korean version but I'd like to dedicate myself 100% to the game; which means being able to read all the text for story purposes etc.

@niwaar, Yeah I understand your worry.. I too went from C-Aion(44 sin) to NA-Aion. I grinded hard, I played a shitload of C-Aion.. I felt a little burnout. The grind was very very tedious in Aion and was forced.

So far, I'm level 28 in TERA in 5 days (been playing longer but I was taking every class to around 10ish) and ive felt that it was almost grind-free to this point. I've solo quested, i've done repeatable quests for a little bit, done each dungeon, missions, group questing and none of it has been boring. This might change in the future as the levels start becoming longer? I can't comment because I dont have a character past 28 but it's a very very well paced game at this point. I've been engaged and having fun the whole time, while other games (rift, xiv, wow) lately have left me bored and unwilling to make myself login.

I used that one it's good. After it's done downloading you log into their site on IE and hit play game and it should patch the game for you.

edit: It took about a half a day to download though because speed slowed down towards the end.

Can't tell ya the number of times i've heard this about any previous game, MMO or offline title. New game feeling wears off fast.

I just watched a dinky video on IGN that was supposed to wow me into believing... and it didn't. It didn't come close to me even wanting to try this game. Figure if this thread hit 100+ pages it must have something going for it, that or all of you are easy bait for korean grindfests. I can't see anything other than pretty graphics in videos or screenshots, so all thats pretty damn useless as a selling point. I've been pleasantly surprised before (RIFT) so i know it can happen again.

Right now i'm trying to just understand what makes it better than just the action-style combat. I doubt anybody has played it long enough to give a truly objective opinion though.

It seems that you can't be swayed by videos or 100-page threads, so what are we going to tell you that will change your mind? Either play it and weigh in with your opinion or don't play it I guess.. lol. What MMO doesn't lose it's new game feeling? that's a rediculous dig.

New game feeling always goes away, its a game's ability to constantly make you go "wow" thats important. This game seems to deliver on that.. whether its a new instance, new boss design, new armor, or a new zone you want to reach that just looks stunning.

btw - does the game have an exploration feel to it like Rift and XI?

Rift had an exploration feel to it? Tera's world is about 10-15 times bigger.
