    13 mil SH was a symptom of venomous claws not being anywhere near as easy to get at that time and everyone and their mom wanting a SH.
    The number was large due to the gil inflation, sure. But their relative value would likely have been just as high regardless of the actual number.

    When end game instance bosses drops 100k+ each, and can get to each boss in about 10minutes~.. that can only lead to crazy inflation. there needs to be a way to stimulate the economy outside of running instances

    Would only matter if gilsellers made gil from nothing... which they did not do. (or at least not in any capacity that players didn't abuse as well)
    Supply and demand works with or without RMT.

    Those are Tyrant weapons (Last boss in the easier lv50 instance). They're pretty rare drops goes for 80-100m on my server, but they're not the highest dmg weapons. OW Bosses are better, and I see more people running around with them than Tyrant stuff.
    And you almost never see those on AH. Also, bosses here don't have retarded spawn times like XI/Aion (two of the world bosses with same weapon grades as Tyrant are on a 4hr re-spawn, and they used to be a 1hr!), longest re-spawn is like 16hrs and they have the bestest weapons.

    The TERA article makes me laugh.

    And Katlan is correct, as much 10th grade economics you wanna throw out there, the only reason SH was 20M was because of RMT and the Christmas special.

    You guys are retarded if you actually think that. It's only as much the fault of the RMT as it would be people giving away gil or LS banks building up a large amount of gil and then doing payouts. If you think the economic impact is much larger than either of those things or that they are fundamentally different then you're clearly delusional.

    Think both sides of the argument are correct. it was due to RMT xmas special... but also due to an influx of ppl cashing in and RMT'ing their gil to the companies. I mean hell... I could sell sole sushi for what? like 100k a stack back then?

    Thats a really nice NM system.. Long enough to camp w/o having retarded timers you become SoL on if you miss a few pops. 4-16hrs is nice.

    Was the 1 million gil for $9 during Christmas special that caused it as well. Calling people retarded because they believe RMT facilities make prices go up is well.. retarded. No one is wrong, but no one is retarded for not fully agreeing with the other.

    Also, the TERA article would be more of a supply and demand issue than say, SH or Hauby. More people walk around with 20M now than in February. Everyone is farming finally.

    Buckets and Caps were not an "infinite gil exploit" they were a bottable commodity that many gilsellers, botters and non botters alike took advantage of.

    Fenux is correct in terms of Tera's issues now. People are max level, and farming these instances and BAMs and anything else that is worth farming and people are walking around with more money than they used to. So things will inflate.

    It does sound to me that there is not enough money sinks in the game currently. Games such as these need to spurn inflation by continually taking money out of the game.

    This is why those SH's and Haubys were priced so high even without the IGE Christmas. They were designed to be rare, to be expensive. Sure, the "break" system in crafting was only a minor way that SE took money out of the economy it was there to do so.

    Wow has similar and different methods of goldsinking. Flight training, expensive mounts, overly expensive crafting materials for both leveling up skills as well as crafting for use. How does Tera remove money from the economy?

    Goldsinking in TERA usually consists of enchanting weapons and armor(especially post 6), unless you spend your entire life farming medals, which is never the case. That would be the closest to breaking a craft in FFXI, bnd don't get me wrong, you can drop tens of millions of gold getting your gear to +9, only to have to vendor it unless you break it down.

    Skills from 1-50 is easily a few million as well, but that's a one-time thing.

    There should have been more cosmetic luxuries in this game TBH. Mounts, dye, etc.

    I played FFXI from JP Beta PS2 version until 7-8 years later...and I had over 1 Billion gil (on 2 characters, so twice), and I don't remember any infinite gil glitch. I was also about some glitch/hacking way before it was mainstream in FFXI too, so please explain lol.

    If you were referring to the fishing stuff, that was not infinite gil lol.

    Pretty sure it was only 1 person who did it and got caught, wasn't like a tool you used and you could get infinite gil. Just some guy hacked the game in a way, happened a lot, different people did different stuff.

    There was never any "infinite gil" in XI. The closest things to that would've been the old dbox item duping bug and the fishing thing.
