Hmm. I'll say it here again, the sup 4 posts comment was on my posting 4 times in a row, not his 5<- post count at the time.
Woody is disappoint, but not at me. :3
Oh and Ragnarok and Bismarck, which are the same shit.
We played from C-Aion then a little over 6 months worth of NA Release. Back then, Enchanting weapons basically gave you damage and spell power. While enchanting armor basically was +defense. People complained about armor being pretty useless to enchant. I had a warrior at cap for most of that time and my spirit master was a couple of levels under cap when we finally gave up the ghost on them significantly improving that game.
Yeah, meaning you tried Aion over a year after NA/EU release. There were improvements and changes in those patches, including a level cap raise. We gave up half a year earlier.
My biggest issue with Aion was the constant rubberbanding. My university had shoddy internet at the time and it made the abyss fucking horrid to play in.
Talking of Aion, how are ranged classes vs melee in TERA? is it like Aion where if you are not a Sorc/Ranger you're shit out of luck in the pvp department and have to sit there and watch those types of classes solo elites for massive exp?![]()
You have no idea how much it's not like Aion when it comes to Sorc/Archer not being imba or OP. It might be due to the bullshit OP stun/knockdown on certain jobs' melee attacks, but it's not like you're going to win just cuz you're an Archer this time around.
Soloing big elites: Melee got the advantage, but realistically they both can do it. You just have to be in range of the mob's melee attacks and spin around him to avoid them (their ranged attacks hit harder and more likely to land on you),
so it comes down to knowing the mobs and not being bad I guess.
Solo PVP: The only thing imba here are crits, and their ungodly multipliers (Crits do double dmg). Thankfully only two multiplier crystals work in pvp (1.42 when below 50% hp, and 1.08 when hitting from the back).
Class wise Berserker is the only class at a disadvantage vs ranged. They wear plate so less dmg taken, and can block 100% of your attacks (if they're super good), but can't deal any back as they don't have any abilities
to make up ground (You can say their jump stab axe in the ground one works, but it has a long recovery animation). Other melee have a lot of dashes/rushes to make up ground and their melee attacks have a Silence/Slow/interrupt for 2-3 sec effect in pvp (WHICH IS SO IMBA). They also have a bunch of stuns and shit (lancer 6s stun ,and 2 IJ type skills with 2s stun, etc).
Ranger however deals a bunch of dmg without much disadvantages (what's new), and sorc has a lot of bells and whistles but ultimately I need some1 to stand still/be CC'd to land my big spells (my 2 CCs either don't last long/long cd, or hard to land on moving objects, but it's not so bad!).
Group PVP: Classes are categorized as: Annoying/Stunners (Lancer/Slayer/Warrior) Those do decent dmg but their main roll is to hold some1 still for the dps (Usually with their IMBA normal melee attacks -_-).
DPS/Spike dmg (Berserker/Sorc) e.g. On my sorc I follow my lancer and wait for him to ij/shield bash some1 and then BOOM!
and Healers (Priest/Mystic of course).
Here is a summary of some stats from the CPE. A quick and interesting read. I'm interested to see the spread of player/race combinations next time when Elin are available.
^ My sarcasm detector is shot, so can't tell how to read that >.>; Anyway, one random think I liked about FFXI was how SE gave out annual info on server popularion, race, job, gender etc charts. It'd be cool to see it done in Tera if just for grins.
30% Castanics. Shocker.
This is due to no Elin, I'm sure.
I know. Talking about 30% though. 7 races, and 30% went to 1 OMG OP. It's dat ass though.
"every 5 min's a noob was killed" Sting go sort these guys out with clean water and a net curtain
It's coming later, they're not done censoring them or something. They aren't being cut though.
Why exactly do Elin need to be censored?
