I think he was confused about the "GM" part. I can't say I've ever really seen people frequently refer to a guild leader as that when it's a genre standard that GMs are game masters...
I think it would be a good idea if most, or NA at least, BG people stayed together in one server/guild, but I don't particulary care for the "Community" guilds that play all or jump around to many MMOs at a time. Not trying to hate at all, do what ya do and I get itJust not for me. I played Lineage/RFO/Insert foreign MMO with a group like that, and couldn't stand the constant game jumping.
I can help lead, pay for a really good website, but I work a lot these days, but should still have enough time to attend most events. Not like the FFXI days D: hehe
Stanislav's guild manager thing looks really good actually.
+1
I prefer if we just stick together instead of having a bunch of different guilds/servers. I'm going to attempt to be active in TERA very soon, I don't know how much time i'll have to commit for events, but I'll help with guild hosting and stuff. I'm partial to stanislav, guildworks is fucking awesome.
At the very least, I don't think that TERA has a lot of activities that involve more than a handful of people unless its a server wide event, so it shouldn't be as intensive as XI.
Hopefully it isn't, because while I'm interested in playing, I don't have the kind of time or lifestyle to support playing an MMO like I did XI back in the day.
I don't think TERA will be as hardcore as some are expecting. What we know now about [end] game may be moot since I think there will be a higher level cap / new end game by the time we get the game in the states.
But it seems like end game will consist of a handful of 5 man instances, farming, and world bosses that are on significantly shorter cycles then XI. What was it that some said? I think [H]NM's range from 1hr, to 4hr, to 8hr, to 16hrs? There is no stupid ass 1-4hr window or 16-21 hour bs that causes you to camp a point for hours watching the screen intensely incase of a spawn. Most it will be is waiting 5-15 minutes for stuff (depending on how much the actual spawn varies from actual ToD and getting there early and stuff).
It sounds like the end game instances are "hard," which is a good thing and the drop rate isn't great (not gonna get loots every boss), but it isn't horrible either. Would be nice if there were some "raids," but I don't even think you can make a group larger then 5 ppl atm.
Seems like there is a bit of everything, and can only hope for more content by the time we get the game. I just hope the instances aren't mind numbing boring (que Dark Poeta that was like 15 bosses but you fought the same boss 3x w/really made the instance only 5 bosses)
Welp, Knox himself mentioned working on the alliance system, which will be needed for world bosses in coming content. Also, talk about 10 man dungeons, which I am skeptical about so not worth mentioning yet, but 15v15 BGs are coming so look forward to higher man events.
To me, as long as it doesn't require 600 people to down a boss with no mechanics, I'm good.
All this content will be out before game launches in the states for sure so expect TERA to be a complete game. Buggy, of course, but that's normal with new games. Like I said many many pages ago, if a game is bad 3, 4, 5+ months in, then it's a lost cause. You always gotta give the game some time to not only grow on you, but clean itself out after launch.

Threw the 51-60 content from AH in there to show that's coming, and it will be 60, not 58(I hope)!
Yeah...going to get in some Mortal Kombat and then level up in TERA for sure...too many damn games I want to beat before NA launch...also going to get a site going with anyone interested in playing together from BG/FFXI. Not that I am assuming leadership, I would rather someone like Fenux do it, but I will help out in any way :D
The more I see of this game, the more I want to play it. FFXIV just isn't doing it for me![]()
Hmm. Are those your current XIV stats in the bottom? I would suggest a $33/35 starter package from a 3rd party source but you can also just wait 4-5 months til open beta.
Deejay why are you playing 14? Dub dub dub
Yeah I haven't played much, but I can't even bring myself to log on and start my leve's. I was talking to a friend about playing (he said Fenux got him into the game, he's got a lvl 50 ranger) and he's going to let me borrow his external HD on thursday so I can copy the client to my pc. All I would need help with is acquiring an account, as I've never tried to play a korean MMO before.
Who is it?
He is a SF friend of mine. I don't think he has an account on BG though
JC and Patrick, both hit 44 in like 2 weeks of playing hardcore, but niggas been playing too much Marvel with Peter. Also, newgameway.com or 3zoom.com.
e: Yeah, good idea waiting til after you have game to buy account. Account usually instant before like 2PM EST. Takes a little but if you purchase too late.
Welt, I haven't seen you post up your impressions now that you have played a bit yourself. Was it worth letting the thread suck you in? What classes have you tried? I downloaded the torrent a week+ ago but haven't decided to grab an account from NGW just yet. Just wanted to hear what you thought as one of the newer players in this thread.
