I can't speak on behalf of endgame since I'm not there yet, however been getting 1~5(+) golds per 40ish instance
is that what you consider low? or are the last instances even lower?

coz yea, coming from FFXI and salvage, I'll take 1~5 usable drops a run over 1/3 of an item once every other week

Lots of very minor cosmetic problems. You will at times, see NPCs with faces that don't match bodies, etc.

The drop rate is not as bad as people make it out to be. I'm currently 4/30ish on Tyrant drop, but that dungeon is on a 3HR timer. Akasha has terrible drop rates, but the up'd the rate 15% on hard mode. HNM gear is a little better than Tyrant gear but a little worse than Akasha gear, and the repop isn't huge so that is a great fix to the problem.

Topographical bugs here and there. Everything in this game can be interacted with so there's bugs in mountains, holes, etc, where you can get stuck. Been getting fixed over time through updates(like the 6HR maintenance going on now-. -)

As of now, it's the highest tier. Multiple gold options at 50 though.

Never played any of those games.

Everything in this game is on a much shorter cool down. There will be times where you see 0 gold in Golden Lab, but there will be times where you see 2-3. Considering the fact that it can be a major farm run for you, and it's on a 3HR timer, it's not as bad as people make it out to be.

Ah. I don't really have much other MMO experience besides some WoW and 7 years of ffxi, so. But, considering most of us did FFXI for so long and dealt with dynamis xarc and salvage drop rates.. I don't see myself getting frustrated.

There's two kinds of gold instance drops (for the 42 and 50 instances at least).
Golds that bear the instance's name: Those drop often. You might not get any, but more than likely you get at least 1 per run. They're good drops but not the best, because they're not enchantable. If you want to be cheap (lvling gear where you will be upgrading son anyway) then those are great for you.

Golds that have the last boss' name: Those are rare ( too rare at lv50 -_-). They're enchantable and can last you a very long time. (a lv44 enchantable axe from the lv41 instances lasted my zerker till lv50).

Here's how drop tables look like for instances so you guys know what Im talking about:

That's not including world drops. Also non-50 instances are on a max 1hr cd, add in the decent exp and repeats and it beats the hell out of dynamis/salvage

The drop rate isn't too bad. The only thing I find somewhat frustrating is having one boss drop named gear. For example, the last boss in Golden Labyrinth, Tyrant is the only boss in that dungeon that drops Tyrant gear. Tyrant gear being any of the eight weapons for class and also the hands, feet, and body for the three different armor types. On top of that, he can also drop normal Golden Labyrinth gear which by this point is only really used for enchanting better gear at 50. So if you're hoping for some Tyrant gear, you'll really have to get lucky that it drops what you're looking for, assuming it drops in the first place. Akasha's Lair works similar except that each boss drops a type of armor/weapon. Like a boss for mage gear/weapons and the other for leather/weapons...so on. The upside to this is that dungeons are on a very short cooldown, so it really makes it feel bearable. Akasha HM and NM also have seperate cooldowns. So there's two shots at it in a row if you want. This seems to be the trend with how dungeon drops work in the game currently, so I'm only assuming it will remain the same with the upcoming patch.

Ping looks like it might actually make a pretty notable difference for DDing, unless they improved it with patches (just judging from that sorc video with the Korean firing like thrice as fast as the player in the US). If I do end up playing this (I'm sure I probably will, looks great) I'm thinking I'll go EU unless Frogster really fucks it up.

Idk, the ping is bad but it doesn't bother me one bit. I PVP and run dungeons with only Koreans and more than keep up. You can tell more on ranged shit like my fireballs and stuff but whatever, it's nothing too crazy.

Ping makes a difference in every aspect of the game, mages, melee, etc. And no, Cian is just my alt to Minerva, we're in the Korean guild.

My time ends tomorrow and idk if Im going to renew. Aphotic went back to Aion and supposedly (accoutring to a PM from Scream yesterday) they're not coming back till NA release.

It is better than Aphotic in the sense that Aphotic is ridiculously inactive. Aphotic already stopped playing. Flawless takes in everyone so they're more active. But then....... lol. I started running Golden with them. 0/4 on clears. 3 wipes in a row on Tyrant and 1 close to time out on the Kuma. I should have known better than to join a self proclaimed number one Aion guild though. Oh, BTW. Xaira is the 3rd person in Flawless to clear Golden, because I ran him through last week. The other couple of people who cleared it in Flawless do it with Koreans.

Wiping to Tyrant is so 3 months ago. And btw I've done a bunch of runs with koreans and some of them still wipe, but they ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ and come back and finish it.
So even with experienced ppl that fight can go south pretty fast.

Yeah, our guild leader randomly put up "LOVEYOU" one day. He doesn't speak much English though so I think he was just messing around really. You're right about Tyrant though Cloudius, we're had some close calls as well with Koreans lately. I think since the test servers went up a lot of the 50s that are playing more on the normal servers are more new, and that is one hell of a fight the first few times you do it. Maybe it's just our random luck though

I also got an email saying Aphotic went back to Aion until NA release, so I can only imagine how much more inactive they are now. I rarely see you guys around anymore. I did hear about a server merge though for Mystel.
