So, with the political system, is there a way to start a revolution and overthrow the guy in charge if he starts being a douche? Sometimes waiting for re-election is just too long.

my first pvp game was warhammer: age of reckoning. i had stayed away from pvp games b/c i had the impression that i'd be ganked/griefed constantly while trying to level up, do quests, missions, etc. i rolled on a core server (i.e. duels, battlegrounds, scenario pvp only instead of an 'open' server where it's basically ON everywhere) and in three days was regretting NOT rolling on an open server. in spite of WAR's inherent and glaring flaws it was one of the most entertaining gaming experiences i ever had.
pvp isn't for everyone, but tera -seems- to have this covered; pvp doesn't seem required to advance (unlike WAR, where the level/xp cap was just the beginning and all the top-end gear had pvp renown requirements to equip). or do i have the wrong impression?
either way, still foaming at the mouth for this to hit the states.
On the main forums there is a group of people who are still in love with Lineage 2 and hail that game as the perfect PvP game of all time. Since a good majority of the developers on Tera worked on L2 they still cling to the idea that the PvP should be the same etc.
/shrug I think anyone who has played Tera knows its a PvE game but has a welcome attitute to the PvP game style.
Pretty much THE reason to stay away from PvP games unless the games have systems built to penalize players for this behavior. There's nothing fun about having no chance, just as you can't randomly put a call for help out on a global channel and expect a reply (that can succeed in repelling the griefer, who might just return 20m later). Of course, the usual pro-PvP response is "do something else!" but if you can't (especially if multiple gankers are roaming around various alt locations), you're SOL. And then people wonder why some quit games when they can't play/enjoy them.i had stayed away from pvp games b/c i had the impression that i'd be ganked/griefed constantly while trying to level up, do quests, missions, etc.
I am all for PvP existing. I just prefer it be how EME is saying they will run it: it still exists but is not invasive if someone does not want to participate. In my brief stint playing WoW one of my biggest grievances was grinding with a friend/my brother and maybe some 70 undead mage deciding to corpse camp us until it no longer amused him. I will participate in the battlegrounds and other PvP stuff though, for sure.

Yeah, organizing 5/10/15 man PVP sessions in and out of BGs is available, PVP server or not.
You know there's always going to be that scrub shit zerg guild that brings 35 members to camps only to fail claim. Then the ganking starts. If they kill you quick enough, they get drops, and I don't feel like dealing with that nonsense.
Those people annoyed me the most on the forums. They so blindly believe that this is supposed to be Lineage3 that they attack anyone at all that suggests the game be like anything else. If you aren't a diehard L2 fan, you're a carebear that must suck at pvp or games in general. Such an obnoxious attitude and they are in for a rude awakening.
Maybe if you give them the carebare stare they'll stop being so mean.
Color? Make it girly, nigga.
system spec to run this with the bells and whistles on? was looking at upgrading the home systems anyway.

Edit: I have an i7 920 @ 2.6, 6 gigs ram and GeForce GTX 275 which I built back in Dec 09. Runs this game like a fucking champ.
I also have an i7 920 @ 2.6 ghz, 6 gigs of ram but a GTX 480.
Do you play Korean Retail? Something with higher pops than say FGT's or CPES the NA/EU has experienced?
From what I've heard the game is largely cpu dependent, not so much GPU dependent. I've also heard at max settings, without a high end cpu, high population areas could get as low as 8-10 fps.
I would post the link to the thread on the tera-online forums explaining it's cpu dependency but I don't have 10 posts.
My laptop has Vista 64, i7 940xm, 8GB ram, and a GTX 460m. The game runs smooth on max settings, and never noticed fps loss.
thanks ~
my i7 920 2.6 only uses 30% CPU, tera itself uses about 1.5gig ram
my game settings/CCC settings are at max everything the only thing i have turned off is AA coz i'm a sucker for 50~60fps :3 (since there's no crossfire support) using a radeon HD 4890, oh and it runs at 99% depending on the area
but the only place i get low FPS is if there's a ton of player shops around at the AH, or if someone rounds up an entire instance of mobs to aoe
Before the PVP hoes came into play.
I found this... rather delicious.Originally Posted by BrotherMagneto

We will launch with everything Korea has launched so far plus some.
GIVE ME 60, MOTHERFUCKERS. [CAN YOU HEAR ME?]
That's what I mean, whether or not your GPU is great, a high population in a rather crowded place will cause a great drop in FPS if your cpu doesn't make the cut.
I am talking not from experience but only what I have heard from others.
I'm sure our 920's will do just fine, but when BF3 is released I might be upgrading my 920 anyways and if we get lucky we should have TERA around that time too.
