Cool, when I get out of class tonight I will have to download the KOBT client. I won't have much time to put into it until the weekend, though.
EDIT: Client is over 22GB, so I will have to wait until tomorrow to log in ㅠ_ㅠ

How are you guys getting into the KOBT?
I tried signing up and it seem futile if you don't actually live in Korea.
edit: Oh. I see the guy above me IS in Korea![]()
Viq lives in Korea
edit: just read your edit after posting, lolz.
and wow at the game being over 22gb for OB client. I'd assume retail will be slightly bigger, and there will be some patches and content added by the time it rolls around to NA/EU, but thats a big game. Don't recall a game outside of AoC that was over 17gb for retail release
my god 22gb lol. I'm also a little sad to hear that it won't be till late summer at the earliest. Its typically rare for me to be excited about an mmo, and its definitely this one for me. I've been watching some of the livestreams, and they make me want to play so bad. Honestly though, if they can keep a steady stream of news coming out about things, I can do with that. It would be nice to have a BG'er playing korean OB to give us an inside to whats going on. On the main forums, i hate to read it cause every single person posts in a different color and font, and its just stressful trying to read.
You can buy an OB account for 12 bucks
Dunno about the first part, but Korean OB runs for 2 weeks.
I bought mine from http://www.newgameway.com/index.php?...counts&gid=112
They send you account user/pass KSSN. All you really need to know is the user/pass and they're fast..takes about 15 minutes tops to your email.
Bought an account from that link about 4 hours ago with no email yet![]()
Awesome... after downloading 22GB it has to spend about an hour and a half more patching. Welp, maybe after my next class I'll get to log in.
When you do get to play Viq, wouldn't mind an honest mini-review/impressions.
I can't help being hyped a bit about TERA. But as far as release dates go and westernization, after that fluff talk by EME after the release date spill... I'm pretty pessimistic about it all. Sounds too familiar, too much like AION. No details on what exactly they're changing. No doubt pretty soon they'll announce there will first be a TERA China, after the JP release. Then by summer EME will be thrilled to announce that they will release the game in September. By then we'll be like "oh well, we've waited this long, might as well wait another few months" and "at least we have a release date now!". And so we're back to 8-9 months gap between KR and EU/NA retail. You'd figure they'd get better & more efficient at this, the more they do it... (EU Vindictus anyone?)
And by the time the game finally launches, we'll have forgotten their sweet promises of perfection and spot on westernization. By then, we'll be mostly content just by them launching the damn game.
Well, I just started up and took a bunch of screenshots on my way to level 5 (I'm 대외 on 카이아도르 server if anyone else is playing... now that I think about it I should probably make a character with an English name in case anyone here gets on), but I can't find where the fuck they went. Initial impressions are that it's C9 with Aion's polish. The way quests work, where you have normal dumb quests and the pseuo-story quests, is identical to Aion. The control scheme is almost identical to C9 where your mouse controls virtually everything, except in TERA you get to remap the mouse buttons if you want. People that are concerned about there being no target system will just have to wait and see for themselves that the game doesn't need one. Truthfully, I've only put in about an hour so my initial impressions are certainly subject to change. It's fun, and fast-paced right off the bat, which is certainly a pleasant change of pace for the genre. I gotta go meet a cute Korean girl for dinner, but when I get back I will try to find those screenshots, play a little more, and post back again.
Also, to the handful of you that have sent me PMs, Hangame no longer allows multiple accounts for each KSSN+cellphone. Ever since they got hooked up with Naver, they put an end to that system. Sorry.

Spoiler: show
What video card you got Viq?
I left my gaming PC back in the States, so I'm playing on my laptop. It just has a shitty old GeForce GT 220M. TERA runs fine for me with the settings as they are in those screen shots, but that's with most graphic options set down to medium.
EDIT: I really wish this game had C9's generic dashing. I'm sure it's probably balanced for later in the game to have it set up so that dashes are on long cooldowns, and certain abilities granting a dash off cooldown, but it feels a little stiff since each class only has one dash direction to begin with.
So I heard they're banning people that speak english in the KOBT
The game looks that good running on a mobile vid card?? Looks way promising for me in the graphics department.
They need some kind of party matching system so bad. Right now there's just a party finding global chat channel, and it's completely ridiculous right now.
In later towns/outposts there are supposed to be bulleton board style LFP systems. I didnt read too much about it since I will be playing with friends but Isle of Dawn might just be shout/pick up party wise.
Considering Viq's gpu, the game is gonna be beautiful (alrdy looks it in those SS's). I never expect much from quests, they are generally the same from mmo to mmo, but fast paced sounds good. Looking forward to the game even more
I'm thinking of WoW global channel during vanilla... lol
