game keeps looking better and better.. and yes, the game is graphically superior to XIV because they didn't make a zone the size of a football field and just copy/paste it everywhere

Because there's nothing to copy paste, lol.
^ I hate comparing games, since the longest MMO I've ever played was XI for 7 years, and I have a special place in my heart for FF titles. That being said, you're absolutely right. We can't be too fanboy about it, either, and we have to come to the realization that FFXIV was a disaster. For the people trying to compare graphics, any single zone in TERA will have 10 times the textures and structures as any zone in FFXIV, IDK why people keep trying to tell themselves otherwise. From the over-sized, copy/paste textures, to having a variety of 3 mobs to grind on throughout the entire game, terrible UI, bullshit Fields of Valors gone wrong they call battleleves, to the simple fact that there is absolutely nothing to do in the game still. I love FF, but I hate SE. And this game is way more SE than it is FF if that makes any sense at all.
***XIV does have great music though.
Okay I might be mistaken here, but the areas resemble me of XI quite a bit. They're not full of textures, instead they're pretty flat aside from bunch of low res bushes here and there. Maybe a larger landmark or two somewhere.
Sure seems to work for them though, so it's a smart move to make.
Very. If you don't sit there and think about it too much, XIV looks absolutely beautiful, as does XI.
I'm talking about TERA here D:
Oh, hmm, the only resemblance to XI I see is may be the color pallet. XI had some pretty colors for an 02 game. As for no textures, IDK, it might just be a completely dif. style than the lean look of XIV.
***http://catxxcat.livejournal.com - GF's LJ has some pics of how she's able to run XI, XIV, Aion and Tera throughout the first couple of pages. One of the 4 stands out in texture, color and structures, IMO. I love how XIV looks, but they half ass too many things like repeating textures, choppy as shit bushes and trees, bridges clearly, etc. I know that's nowhere near as good as XIV can look but that's quit standard TERA settings too, and a decent example of what you can achieve with a medium spec PC. I've seen both TERA and XIV on a computer much better than that and they both look good enough to me. But it ain't all about the pretty mountain walls![]()
For the people who were wondering about Warrior in TERA:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Weapons
Do warrior swords come in pairs?
Do different warrior swords have different purposes such as threat generation or damage mitigation? Are swords uniform in length?
Can the warrior equip weapons other than swords?
-Warriors fight with twin swords, not two swords. It is a millennia–old combat style, and the federation's weaponsmiths have created carefully matched swords meant to be used together. There's no need to research the properties of an individual sword, since you'll never find just one. If using one sword is the kind of play you enjoy, give the slayer a try!
Tanking
Are warriors a tanking or DPS class?
How do the warrior's tanking abilities compare to those of a lancer?
Will some monsters be easier to fight with evasion tanking versus lancer tanking?
Are warriors and lancers interchangeable in the tank role of a party?
Given their evasion tanking nature, are warriors hearty enough to take a few hits?
Given the nature of evasion tanking, will holding a target's threat be a problem?
-That's a big chunk of really good questions. I can tell you all really care about the warrior and its role in TERA's fast-paced action combat, so here's what we can tell you now.
-The warrior, like the lancer, has a vital role in TERA's gameplay. With quick, devastating attacks, warriors command the attention of all foes regardless of size. Where lancers create a point of control around which the battle revolves, warriors define the battlefield as they move. Both can stand up to powerful foes, and the warrior's lighter armor and motion-based skills avoid the damage the lancer blocks with his shield, while at the same time allowing the warrior to survive the few hits that land.
Combat
In a party, will healing warriors be difficult due to their high mobility?
-Like any of TERA's classes, a warrior needs to keep in mind the range and radius of incoming heals. We won't sugar coat it—a healer's role is just as challenging as a front-line fighter's or a ranged combatant. All require the skill and timing from the player as much as the skills on the bar.
How does the warrior avoid being quickly disposed of after being knocked down?
-By standing up.
Skills
Will the warrior's evasion skills have cooldowns or can warriors just evade non-stop?
Will warriors be able to interrupt or cancel skills while they're being cast?
-All skills have cooldown times, regardless of class. Some can be interrupted by incoming damage, and over time the MP cost of a skill determines when and how it is best used.
How does the "shadow clone" warrior skill work?
-As mentioned previously, the warrior takes up a large part of the battlefield with sweeping attacks and quick movement. But he doesn't have to do it alone, and by sacrificing some HP, he can animate his shadow to fight alongside him for a while.

I'm guessing not even EME has a concrete answer on what War is categorized under lol. What an '06 NIN!
Reading through the info you posted right now Fenux. Thanks.
Does anyone have any impressions of Ranger? I was interested in it but 2/5 difficulty sounds lame and boring.
Ranger? You played enough XI? I would say the hardest jobs in XI is PLD and maybe RDM to play at it's full potential. Maybe 3/5 in comparison. Ranger in XI is easily a 1/5. It's the free-target system that actually makes all the difference. In this game, if you miss, it's because you missed, not because an imaginary stat said it's your turn to miss.
You get your standard dodges, wear light armor, you get barrage type moves, WS type moves, traps, self buffs, etc Think Hunter with free-target and unlimited arrows. Your MP works as your TP gauge like in many games. It depletes over time like other melee jobs in TERA outside of Lancer and replenishes with every hit.
An Archer joined my set a few days ago on the level 26 epics and has stuck with us ever since. He dies a lot :3
Maybe Nitsuki can shed some light on it from first person since he's rolling Archer.
Oh, I forgot to mention, the Archer in the set is the same exact level as us. A good guess at our HP at 120% is as follows.
Lancer 14100
Priest 12300
Sorcerer 1000
Archer 950
Pulling hate on Archer is a pain if you get hit. I think it's the lowest HP in game with normal gear.
My Priest is wearing blue HP earrings since MP is ridiculously easy to stay above 50% and Lancer wearing blue MP earrings since all hate moves use MP and Priest has no refresh. Archer has to worry about other things than HP/MP on earrings.
http://www.livestream.com/Luciferia is a nice feed of a girl who has been playing/loves ranger. Luciferia, if she is online and playing, will often chat in the live feed so you could ask her for any insights too. I think she is in the low 30s lvl wise.
Any kind of NA release date on this?
^Nothing concrete yet. EnMasse is keeping like Blizzard and saying 'when its ready' but also points to heavy(ier) testing starting summer so perhaps a big closed beta then with a release following /shrug
Did anyone that got an account from newgameway have to wait a long time for the account email? I've been waiting for about 8hours now.
Ok, I guess its RIFT until TERA :O Your avatar is hawt
