Wha
We know they're older than they look, sure. To the casual onlooker, though, not so much. In general, society still has a stigma against gamers, particularly MMO players. It might be cool for you to say you don't give a shit about what others think if they turn around and call you Roman Polanski, but not everyone wants to have to put on that kind of front for a hobby. I guess I'd be curious to see if they've done much research to see if people prefer the less-clothed version or if more people would consider the game if they weren't so near-naked. Still, the "tights" approach doesn't surprise me at all and it's honestly a compromise between maintaining their proportion and not flashing so much skin.
You're right, a company running a MMO should totally cater to the uninformed gut reactions of casual onlookers with a bias against MMOs.
In the end, that's what it is, a compromise. Or better, they did just enough that was needed to release the game in Europe, without covering it up to the point where it gets the majority of the player base mad. In the end, they really couldn't change the proportions, according to basically every single poll started. More people would be disappointed rather than please if the change was any bigger and that will eventually result in less money for them.
As many flaws as we can point out with EME's inability to advertise/show case a game off, the biggest mistake people make is assume they aren't listening.
I'm not going to play Elin, but god damnit Fenux, this is adorable.

it's also exhibit A for why I fucking hate jumping in MMOs
Hahahaha the Baraka in the background!? I like the jumping in this particular game because all the terrain is purposely climbable, as long as it's not too steep.

I might be on a small boat here but flying in Aion, for example, was something that I hated. Jumping is cool. I hated it when I was content with XI but it ain't bad now.
so pretty.. im starting to dislike this thread since the game is so far away![]()
Finding it pretty cool that Koreans don't ever PK people fighting world bosses, from what I've seen so far that is.
One of the 2 dragonkin type mobs in the Frozen Prairie;
What are the chances of it being like this on PVP server here in the states, considering it's a fairly new mob with legendary lv.50 gear?
Once some big name guilds are established with rivalry between them people will go out of their way to kill other people fighting world bosses. Even if they have no intention of killing the monster themselves. And it'll be glorious.
LS drama in FFXI would have been hundred fold if you could PvP other linkshells in DA or Sky.
Oh and for real news, apparently Tera EU has sent out invites for the Community Play Event (CPE), good luck to all you EUs who are trying to get in. Hopefully we'll get the NA announcement today!
edit from bromag on forums: "As someone else noted, this is only an invitation for fansites and guilds to nominate people to get in. We sent out a similar invitation privately (and didn't announce it) a couple of weeks ago"
I guess you need to keep up with the forums to actually see what the hell is going on with this game. Signed up for the EU newsletter months ago and I've only had one back in December (issue #1). Haven't had a single email since, kind of shitty. Also says to check them out on facebook and the page it links to doesn't even exist, GG Frogster. Did a little looking though and apparently they're just handpicking testers from the forum. Guess I'll wait for a wider test because I'm too lazy to circlejerk on their forums all day in hopes of getting in.
