Warrior wears leather, just like Archer.
Lancer - Plate
Berserker - Plate
Warrior - Leather
Slayer - Leather
Ranger - Leather
Priest - Cloth
Sorcerer - Cloth
Elementalist - Cloth
I'm right there w/ you, especially w/ everyone who has played the Korean version (and not being able to understand shit) loving it.
No way in hell they will let CB and/or OB characters transfer over into retail. A lot of mmo's in Korea do that.. but it doesn't happen here and it wouldn't. Backlash would be to huge and would plague unfair competition
^ If you're cool with the whole "procure" an account thing, I don't think the game being in Korean atm ruins any of the fun at all. Esp just the first 12 levels or so; screw the storyline, you will be having too much fun in combat and enjoyinig the stunning visuals of the game that, that alone is worth a 1 month block of time imo.
Example:
Tons of Level 1's jump on a PVP game only to see legions of level 25-35 beta players with gear, currency, and the ability to own them immediately in PvP.
America's view on things unfair is "FK it - I quit". This is much different than the Asian standpoint of "OH SHIT MUST WORK FASTER AND HARDER NOW".
General, yet true, outlook on it, but not true down to an individual standpoint obviously.
Not playing open beta is like not jumping on the game when it comes out. Everyone has access to it.
The KOBT had around 18 servers that made it to retail. I doubt NAOBT will have more than say 8-10, then they would have to split them into PVP and PVE so for that reason it might not happen but OBT is accessible to everyone and there should be no unfairness.
Naw, ppl view OB as a free test, but some who alrdy know they want to play game ignore OB because its just gonna be a character wipe. Aion KOB carried over into retail, but the western version didn't. I would say most KOBT games carry over into retail because ppl don't pay for the game there, they just pay for time to play the game. It's just a different system (I know, TERA was different).
It won't happen over here, no reason to even argue it.
if anything they will do a headstart or make your character early type of thing.
I think it would be absolutely fantastic to actually know how many players actually give feedbacks in American OBTs and actually consider them tests lol. I don't think I've ever done it myself. The forums here usually, not always of course, involve people bashing a beta for not being complete, rushing to level cap and crying about lack of content, etc. Sad. : (
And no, TERA was the same system in Korea as Aion and most MMOs due to games running off the sites, but that's been discussed already. It would be nice though.
I would like for them to keep the same head start and pre-selection(server, character) as they did in Korea, but that's bound to happen no matter what I hope. : )
Need a name for a guild. It seems enough people here are playing KTERA and I wanna try some GL soon.
That AoE grinding video reminded me of AoE grinding my Death Knight in WoW.
Fenux are you sure you can hit others with your moves unintentially? That's awesome! Open PvP is sick too, someone pissing you off? Just kill them. lol
Youtube is full of lots of the same crap, anyone have links to good gameplay videos? Especially against large monsters or with lots of examples of the skillshot system.

There's some decent videos of not only grind but dungeon and scenery. Problem here by the time you notice people next to you that you might hit, they usually kill me. I roam a lot solo and I can't tell you how many time I get rolled just because people wanna claim that EXP spot. I actually love it, even though I'm always first to die, despite having such awesome racial traits.
Don't forget there's PvP and PvE only servers.
@Weltall
So according to EME they are designing a system that discourages ganking at least on the NA servers. Another thing I read throughout their extensive FAQs (some are on the forum) they wanna focus on group pvp, but let people have the freedom to choose what kind of pvp they want to participate in, GvG, 1v1, 5v5, 10v10, 1v10(ironman).Q: In the past someone mentioned a “declaration of PVP” in PVP servers – how will this work?
A: We want to create a system that allows for full PvP freedom but discourages ganking. The declaration of PvP you’re referring to is something in the Korean version of the game that warns a PK target you’re about to kill them, which we actually removed in our first Focus Group Test to see how the game worked without it. It’s not quite perfect yet but we’re getting close.
If you roll on a pvp server you would want to find a guild ASAP so you can call in reinforcements or get revenge on someone.
I don't think it'd effect gameplay what so ever if they keep the character data from OBT > Live. All of the bug testing has been completed since they are just translating and tweaking gameplay and aesthetics, the only thing the NA/EU OBTs will do is provide a preview of what the game will be like, and fixing any errors in translations. If I recall correctly i'm pretty sure EME has said something along the same lines when it came to if the tests were actually doing anything. The FGT are just seeing what the small portions of the demographics want out of the game, and what they can do to make the game more westernized.
Anyways, I'd be more willing to agree with your point of view if it really made a difference in the game (say for something like EVE Online) but in this case I just don't see it being an issue. People are hyped about this game, especially the 18-25 demographics and most of the fans know a thing or two about how korean games work, I don't think they'd be willing to just quit over being "unfairly" ganked. This shit happens in WoW's PvP servers all the time, if you can't take the heat just chill in the PvE only servers till you stop sucking.
Well since people on BG are playing KTera, i'll jump on the boat. I still have my KSSN and stuff for hangame so i'll get the client downloaded tonight and hopefully be ready to go tomorrow.
I think i'm going to try out KTera, gonna buy an account soon, then buy a 30 day card next paycheck. I don't wanna pay $35 upfront just yet. Hell I may not even bother, there's a lot of cons for playing right now for westerners.
How many are there? I may join if enough are doing it, rather not try to go it alone.
According to PMs, at least 4, and my 3 man set. Mystel and Dagon have a few EN speaking players though.
e; Bigger EN LSs are on other servers though. Not many mix and match LSs in Mystel either. : (
I want to, but I can only play at nights, and honestly, would rather play Rift for the time being unless there is an EN pack.
Edit - Screw it, I want to play this game. Question though, why would I want to hold off before the next patch like you suggested?
2 interviews mentioned something about level 58 cap in April. March 17th confirms that.
Ok, I'm still not seeing why we should wait to play XD?
