This in particular peeks my interest. Just not sure I'm ready to learn Korean to check it out at this point. From the trailor video in OP it looked like some of the bosses were huge (one crab-looking) and they knocked the tank all over the place. Is there another game you could compare the group encounters with? I saw it mentioned they were challenging, but I'm curious about the mob AI and scripting.

Yeah, those are BAMs, the fastest 5 man grind/quest. Then there's normal Elites, the fastest 2-3 man grind/questing. Then the normal mobs.

You can compare it to an Aion, in terms of mob types, with even another tier of Elites, outside of OW bosses of course. It's also free-target and the mechanics and AI is actually great, so you can't be bad.

Oh, and dungeons are ridiculous.

Comparable in size to the crab you're talking about. Pretty much the normal full PT grinding/questing mob.

I have played enough MMOs in my life and I can honestly say you won't regret dishing out $35 to try this out, regardless of the language barrier. I stopped posting as much because lots of people here eventually got an account and joined my guild, so we talk there. Those mofos are on almost as much as me, without reading a single word of Korean so don't let that be the ultimate deciding factor when think about playing KTERA. They can tell you that themselves.

Please excuse graphics, I dropped it to 4/6 batch and dropped all settings on nvidia CP due to population of servers getting high. Lagging, y0.

To learn how to read Hangeul? I'm totally serious. Hangeul is incredibly easy to read. If you could read Hangeul then you would realize just how much stuff in-game is just Koreanized English (ie. 파티 = pa-ti = party).

Did anyone have difficulties downloading the client? I'm getting a popup which I'm pretty sure is telling me I exceed the requirements, and then the only option is to close the window.

edit: nm, just took forever for another window to open and start.

I don't know the policy on sharing torrent links here, but if you go to pirate bay and search TERA client, there is a OB one that will patch up to current retail in about 10mins after you finish the dl. I was torrenting at just shy of 1mb/s so it was waaay faster.

Those are first BAMs you encounter.
It's amazing that instead of soloing and getting 800-1k exp at a time, you can kill one with a group of 20s and get 15k exp.

It's been said that korean is the easiest East Asian languages to learn. It'll probably take an hour to really learn the alphabet, then a month or two picking up random vocabulary. It's totally possible.

I dunno, I could maybe see a case in people picking up things decently in jumping from one Romance language to another, but from that to Asian is a totally different animal. I have a hard time looking at the above as just letters, but more as symbols. There's a lot more going on in their design and I'm doubting they're just 26 letters for the sake of easy conversion and recognition.
