After playing TERA for the last week, other games just don't compare. I fired up rift earlier cause being the way i am, i wanted to finish the last 4 levels and get to 50. I could tolerate about 20 minutes before i shut down again. Everything in tera is just done correctly. Surprisingly for a korean game, its hardly what i would call grindy. Along with what cichy was saying, enemies are very refreshing. Each area actually has different looking enemies, not just something reskinned. My first dungeon i did at 20ish was completely awesome. While i was in a completely korean party and had no idea what they were saying, i still had a blast. Here's some shots of the mini boss and end boss of it.

All in all, game is and is going to be great. I can't wait for NA release.

Besides the fantastic way the game looks, it really is a ton of fun to play. The mechanics of combat are where its at. I honestly dont think I could ever go back to the classic tab/target type of game again.

Question: How did you manage to get in a party for the Dungeon with the Korean team if they didn't speak English and you don't speak Korean?

We're on Mystell.
He typed "join?" and they invited him lol. I got left out in the cold and had to PVP a Korean in another group for his spot lol.
Really cant say enough good things about this game. Things like you can press "Y" and see parties your level range instead of going through some elaborate search systems.

this game does look amazing how long was it in preduction before it went live? (presuming its live but localized only sort of deal)?

I used newgameway and I did not buy the vpn. Nobody mentioned the vpn was necessary so I'm rolling without it. I don't think Fenux uses one either. As far as I know english in character names is fine, but I wouldn't utter a word of english anywhere else other than tells and guildchat.

Do the males in this game also have "enhanced features"? In FFXIV the males had horribly flat asses, but the torso looked great, meanwhile in Rift they actually have some ass but the rest of the body does not look too good like the highlanders in FFXIV. And i assume this is going to be a no since i don't remember a single MMO where this is true, but is there anything going on in the groin area? I can't tell with the screenshots. So far, if i were to play, i'd probably go man whore it up as castanic.

ok, so nowhere near as lenient as C-Aion was. Good to know, gonna grab an account now and start downloading.

I'm just going off what I've read. I'm not sure how hardcore they are about banning paying subscribers, but I'd keep the english out of public chat channels. I've only been playing for a day, so perhaps one of the other guys that have been playing longer can say more on the subject.

And Kuya, I honestly have not been paying much attention to the guys or how delicious their body parts are looking, but what few male npcs I've run into seem like they'd be a big hit with the womens (and the mens who like that sort of thing). When I log on later I will investigate further for you, but maybe SilverBreeze or someone else can comment further.

Don't think we ever said graphics make a game. Look at XIV, its absolute shit. But graphics are important.

I can't decide between Human, Elf or castonic. They are all so good..

I was dead set on Castanic, but Elf is really tempting me for retail..

I started to follow Tera back in 2009 when it was still called "Project S1". Its probaby been in the works several years before that. Its live in Korea, which is where people in this thread are currently playing. Will be live in NA/EU sometime late Q3 or Q4, rumor is Sept.

looks like something i'd like to have a go at nothing wrong with ffxi but 9 years old game vs brand new awesome looking, and seems to bring up the enjoyable play time too

So I got my account from newgameway and when I try to log in to the website, the account info they provided for me doesn't work. Do I just copy + paste the corresponding fields from the email they sent me or something else? <_>
