oatmeal cake or pancakes are the way to go
I have never been thinking about OJ. This may be a good diea
I tried with strawberry, but it sucks. But I'm planning to mix with the blueberry jam once I figure out a better way to prepare oatmeal >.>you can add fruit to it, or jams or preserves but that only goes so far
Only five reps is pussy shit.
5x5 for tuff people
but we're talking about Tyven.
I was wondering what would be a good work out plan for strenght and volume maintenance purposes.
Turns out I am going to be resting from the gym for 2 whole months, and I am a little worried about losing some of the progress I have made. Also, would like to try and burn some fat during this time span, so going to watch caloric intake and do some intensive running/cycling/swimming every other day, probably interval training. So it is expected to lose some muscle strenght and volume but would like to keep it to a minimum, without access to gym equipment.
I really have no idea, but was thinking maybe doing the exercises of the "Starting Strenght" workouts would be a good way to try to maintaing it, using any heavy stuff I can find to squat, bench, etc.
Should I just make a general work out that targets the whole body and do it every other day (push ups, pull ups, squatts...) or try to make a ghetto plan that targets more specific areas each day, like I have been doing (chest+triceps -> back + biceps -> legs -> shoulders)?
Any info would be greatly appreciated as I am pretty lost, no idea what a maintenance work out plan should be like.
Also, if the answer is to try and replace the kinda specific exercises I have been doing (in addition to the mandatory and general ones) with ghetto ones without gym equipment, a website or something where I can see different alternatives would be nice.
you need a gym or a pretty comprehensive barbell setup at home to do starting strength

have you guys bought whey from here before? my friend was telling me the ON 10 lb tubs were going for approx 40$ for a short period of time. they're from jersey. i guess its a decent site lol. but has anyone else seen deals similar to this? it seems like a tease for him to tell me he got his 10 lb cookies n cream ON for 40 bucks and than look on the site and see 5 lbs for like 44 lol
Right. I guess the main question was if I should go for workouts with general and compound exercises similar to those of the several starting strenght alternatives, or try to be more specific.
If you had no gym or comprehensive barbell setups available at home, but rather just your own body and really basic stuff like dumbbells, what would you do to try to maintain your muscular progress? I know two months isnt going to kill what I have made, but since I am going to be cutting it may eat more muscle than I would like, without a proper maintenance plan. Dont know.
oop, that reminds me to post this, thanks Rich. http://slickdeals.net/permadeal/37068
As for that site, I've never heard of it, but a straight-up 10lb container for $44 sounds too good to be true, lol5lb Optimum Nutrition 100% Whey Protein Gold Standard $31

Body weight exercises should be ok for 2 months...such as push ups, pull-ups, some plyometrics, lunges, squats, lunge jumps, jump squats, planks... If you have dumbbells and/or something heavy you can lift, maybe you can do some rows and presses, too. Anything to keep your muscles active.

I like that.
Also, just make sure to eat enough protein.
What blogs and sites do you guys frequent for nutrition and overall fitness? I spent a good portion of last weekend reading all of Mark's Daily Apple
Ok one more question for the runners. How do you guys get loose before runs. I seem to, when I really push hard, get a cramp in the middle of my rib cage on the right side and I'm sure it's caused by the way I run, but I think if maybe I stretch properly I can avoid feeling that cramp or tightness.
Also, how does a newer runner deal with dizziness in the heat? It's not a dizziness where I feel I'm going to pass out, but it's more of an exhausted feeling.
i was just using an example! tbh im more of a plasma TV kind of guy. and i LIKE the reflective glossy screens, idc
im about to head out to LA right now, and im gonna be moving into the 400's on my deadlifts today. im soooo pumped :D im gonna ask a random dude to take a pic lol
@Vade - MDA (should be obvious) most definitely for me, and bodybuilding.com is pretty cool, too.
@Shinzon-- Not a runner but are you keeping hydrated ?
