What kind of snacks for inbetween meals do people eat? Ive been trying to eat nuts(Almonds mainly); but that gets expensive. Ive heard people like to eat turkey jerky; but I have a hard time finding any in the town I live.
you dont, snacks are bad mmkay
Tomorrow's gonna suck. Going to try to do chest right after work after doing tris and bi's the past two days respectively.
you have a whole day for bi's and a whole day for tri's?
Not all the time, but sometimes I split em.
If you wanna lose weight start exercising and have a proper diet; forget about miracle diets and bullshit 'toxins' in your body.
As far as snacks goes, I dig my home-made yogurt w/ dried fruits, granola, and w/e I can find. If you have a dehydrator you can make jerky too... although it tastes kinda funky or I'm too picky.
@Aero:
Snacks, if I eat it, usually consist of hard-boiled eggs, veggies and hummus, protein shakes, greek yogurt + protein powder, fruit, and protein bars.
@Zoo:
When you talk about alternative programs, what do you mean exactly? I think one must be careful and state specifically what one means.
Alternative programs like...?
When I think of miracle diets, I think of crap like the cookie diet...which is by no means useful or healthy. If I'm understanding you incorrectly, please correct me and explain further.
Alternative programs meaning things other than the cookie cutter "well balanced diet using the food pyramid and hit the gym with free weights."
Like your stance on fats, p90x, etc. Figured that was kinda obvious. Just because one method words doesn't mean others are invalidated.
Other programs outside da cookie cutter? Gotcha.
I guess I'm being dense and still not getting it. Him saying eating a proper diet and exercising seems to cover your alternative programs that you listed (my stance on primal/paleo diet, p90x) as those are still encompassed in exercising and proper diet.
When I think of miracle diets, I think of full bar, Ally pills, and cookie diet (which I guess they claim is a miracle diet).
I guess I must just be tired and slow at processing today.
the point is, is that those things (cookie diet, full bar, whatever) definitely work for some people, even if they could be losing weight just as effectively if not more with just proper diet/exercise
what an idiotic statement.
because carb cycling works best for me, everything else is useless to everyone else.
and the fact that 100% of the people don't use a ketogenic diet when it's easily the best diet in the world for fat loss says that there's more to diets than outright efficiency.
Yes because you don't exercise, right? Grats!
i spend 40 bucks a month on fiber because i don't believe in toxins
So, since starting my my diet/exercise routine hard back Mid Feb Ive gone from 215lbs down to 178. Ive been really good with my diet and exercise(lately Ive been a slacker but thats due to being on leave) though reading these last few pages I feel i may not be eating enough? Im not exactly sure how many cals I take in, I haven't been keeping track of that. Ive been tracking how much pro, carbs, and fat I am taking in a meal/snack though. And really its such a bad thing, but i skimp and breakfast the most( which i know is horrible to do.) What do you guys eat for breakfast, im really gonna buckle down and make sure i keep getting up to eat.
don't skip breakfast, that's a long ass time to go without food. my shit is pretty standard eggwhites, banana and some sort nut butter sandwich
Bowl of cereal and some fruit does the job. Cheerios or Mini Wheats or something with whole grain is a great kickstart to the metabolism. Then I usually eat a banana or a peach. Some people slip in a half a glass of milk with whey protein too since your body has been starved of nutrients (especially protein) all night unless you are taking casein before you go to sleep.
Can scramble up a couple eggs if you get tired of the cereal routine.
Edit: I'd definitely suggest water or milk to go along with your breakfast. You are most dehydrated in the morning usually. Especially if you plan on working out within the next 2 hours.
ya im usually at work with an hour of eating and working at within 2 hours. And i know, just having to be up and at work by 630am as is getting up and eating was always a chore more than i saw it as treating my self right. Im still trying to lose fat/some weight, and im roughly taking in over a course of 6 meals/snacks around 25-30g of fat a day, 120-130g of pro, and 140-150g of carbs a day. I haven't been cal counting cause well I didnt think I needed to but with my fitness lvl increasing more and more to back when i was in top shape and working out harder, should i be?
