I don't post here a lot, but holy crap that is impressive rich. Cheers to you man.
Holy shit man...
I mean this totally complimentary: If someone showed me two of those pictures and said they were the same person I'd call them crazy and need to get their eyes checked.
Very impressive, good for you :D
I'm a reclusive nerd so I don't worry much at all about the ladies, but still trying to improve my image and habits for my own sake. I don't like feeling like I'm gonna die from doing something as stupidly simple as when I have to run to catch my morning train, and I know from family history that diabetes is serious stuff and really don't want to go down that path either.
(So far so good, two runs in and I don't feel like my entire body is going to mutiny :D)
Richardd you were 426 and now you look like that?
Fucking christ dude, I worked on Extreme Makeover and those assholes don't even come close to touching you.
Anyway, went to the gym today, I'm up to 188 now...(creatine water retention i'm sure is the main culprit) and I look, um, weird. I felt like a beast doing my workout (biceps+back), but afterwards I was all...bulky and weirdly proportioned. My arms looked big, my gut/chest looked kinda gross/fatty, and my traps look fucking gigantic - they're overtaking my neck.
Shit's just weird, I didn't even recognize myself in the mirror. Part of me likes it, and part of me is grossed out. I can't wait til bench workout #5 (dominated #3 a couple days ago) - #5 is the "test" where I see if I can jump up another 5 pounds on the chart (last set for me will be 185 as many times as I can - if I can do it 5 times then I get to move up to the 210 1 rep max routine starting at workout #6).
I'm going to fucking destroy it, I'm really pumped. I love this bench routine.
Those stretch marks on your biceps\chest tie in make me wet in the pants.. Keep cutting till you see abs, like a clear 6pack then you go from there. The strength never goes away, it just fluctuates based on diet, once you kick the carbs up again you'll be lifting your shit in no time, odds are since your diet will be a lot cleaner this time around you'll be lifting more. Shit and if you ever start supplementing you'll be a monster, i couldn't imagine you on creatine and some no2
Residue - is that no2 stuff for real? Shit's kinda pricey and seems hardcore...and I kinda wanna try it.
wow rich, that's really inspiring... and here I am trying to go the opposite way. I've gotten up to an avg 150 (food and time of day seems to fluctuate it) from 133 at the beginning of this year.
First 5 months of school I was hitting the gym religously, then the past 2 months I've been on and off, maybe twice a week(I was sick for two weeks and school here is retarded) I have a high metabolism so its hard, but I notice results easier since my small body fat %. Still a great inspiration to keep on keepin on. It's really how much effort you put into this stuff, if you're dedicated, you get results.
I'm wondering, when did you start going from 350-> 300? Have you taken a week full break for your body? If you think your body is slipping/tired, that may just be a sign of overtraining. Perhaps you should take a full week's break, or just a week where you take it easy...instead of running/lifting...just jog/walk more. Many people overlook the awesome power that is resting, which is really the key component to building muscle and such. Just want to make sure you're not overtraining... That doesn't do you or your body any good.Originally Posted by richardd

@ atr':
naw not at all. my dad says it was because i ate a lot of protein while i was losing weight, and because i was young? lol. idk. i still got plenty of fat, but its easy to hide in smaller, relaxed fitting tank tops lol. oh and my stretch marks are fucking every where. ugh. i dont know how to hide em.
and i did that smile just for you baybeee
once again, thank you all so much. it was really hard to share those pics because i've only shown those to a select few the last couple months. im still kinda mad at ever being that big.. lol.. but i just didnt wanna get diabetic and i wanted girls to approach ME for once. so i changed my life fast.
instead of eating chips, ill eat apple slices dipped in a little bit of organic peanut butter. my favorite food used to be bacon cheeseburgers with seasoned curly fries. now its salmon with asparagus. i used to eat leftovers for breakfast, like spaghetti or if there was none, i'd buy cookie crisp cereal lol. now i eat eggwhite omelets with spinach and tomatoes and oatmeal 2 hours later split with 4 other meals during the day. my life changed so much!! whether you're getting bigger/or trying to lose weight, just find that motivation and stuck with it. music helped me a lot, and so did girls. but ultimately, do it for yourself. im gonna live an extra 20 years because my blood pressure is great, and my body is healthier than it was beforeand if i can fucking do it, any of you can. seriously
im the guy that thought crocodile dundee died for 2 months when it was actually crocodile hunter
I understand the *need* to...but still, I think your body could use a week of total rest. I believe at this point, you won't go back to your "old ways" after 1 week of rest. I mean, I have to force myself to take a week break... Even when I do, sometimes I go for a light jog/walking/biking (instead of HIIT) for a week while skipping lifting/strength training. It kills me because I love my lifting, but I know it's good for my body to take a rest. Only time I have actually taken a full week of complete rest was when I got into my bike accident. You don't have to be completely lazy for a week, but that's not bad either. You can go for walks...something more low-impact, while still keeping your body moving.Originally Posted by richarrd
It'll be good for your body. Try it. Really. Take care of yourself. But in the end, I guess you know your body best. Here are some links you may want to read/look into...just in case.

it's also possible that you're experiencing strength loss from not eating enough calories. Seems like kinda a lot of max strength to lose so quickly, so I dunno.
Also I think vitamin E oil should help with stretch marks, isn't that what pregnant women use?
Oh @Arch, NO2 supplements definitely give you energy, but part of me wonders if that's just because most of them are loaded with caffeine or other CNS stimulants. Still, a lot of BBers drink coffee right before a workout so I guess the principle is the same. I notice that I can lift just a little bit harder, but sometimes the caffeine is too much and I lose focus on my form more easily. Also there are people that can't even take NO2 supps because it makes them shit like crazy, lol.
idk lol
yesterday was a none gym day, i did my 120 pushups but i didnt do anything else for activity besides walk around with my friends for a bit.. lol. i know you burn a lot of calories just living everyday, but i dont want to ease up 1 biti thought i was already since i have a days rest after every other workout. and tbh, i feel uneasy even about that lol. im just itching to make my body feel sore in a few hours because today is a workout day and im kinda excited about it lol.
i dont know, ill consider it honeybunz <3 but i think my body is recovering fast. D:
Must be the steroids...Originally Posted by richarrd

im eating around 2k a day, but its mostly fiber and protien. the carbs i get is generally from my oatmeal. i stay away from potatoes/those white carbs a lot, which is probably effecting my lifting

god im such a g00ber
^ lol Not that I'm really wanting to give a breakdown here, but in my experience, N.O. Xplode was the one I had to be most delicate with (just barely even using 3/4 scoop) to prevent getting like caffeine-induced ADD crossed with panicked pooping, while White Flood just made me feel like I was in between roid-rage and clinical depression lol. Gaspari Superpump was a more mild effect so while my body did fine with it, the pump itself was a lot less noticeable.
I think in every brand they encourage an off-period of something like a month's time and seemingly everyone has different reactions to each product (some swear by Superpump) so I could've very well just had bad timing with my usage or hadn't eaten enough pre-workout and felt exaggerated effects. Hard to say, but reluctant to use them again.
I think the most important part of making a big lifestyle change like that is to just man up and do it. Once you've decided, throw out that shit in the fridge you used to call food, buy up some better stuff for you, and don't look back. Telling yourself you'll start next week or next month or whatever never gets you anywhere, and the sooner you start, the sooner you'll have the body you wanted. When I made up my mind, I put it off and didn't really get around to it for another 2 months or so afterwards, and I look back on those 2 months as the biggest waste of time I've ever lived through.
Grats richardd, it's obvious you made a plan and followed through. It's always cool to see stories like that play out so well.
Hmmm. Now this this thread makes me wonder if I'm over working out...
Here's the details:
I work out everyday.
Weights: 6 routines - 2 routines at a time, 3 sets of repetitions. Pretty much have 1 routine for each - Biceps, triceps, back chest, abs (sit ups - not weights but included in the routine).
Carido - Oliptical 30min on fat burning.
To I've looked at those over training links and none of them apply. Honestly I think I'm going too light. Comments?
