You definetly don't need juice to earn some stretch marks. I still stand by the workout "Bosshogg" if you're looking to put on size and strength fast. Both time I bought into the mindset and kept my diet I've gotten stretch markes between the pecs/shoulders and crotch area. I'll be starting another round of it Monday. I stick to the 4 sets total of 20 because I get the best results with it. I've done a total of 4, 8 week long workouts. The 2 20 totals reps got me the best results.

Anyone live in the Columbus, GA area looking for a workout partner? Figured it was worth a shot. I'm cool if you're just getting into working or whatever.

Edit: My brother, all natty, has some of the craziest stretch marks. He started bosshogg and my diet his jr year in highschool. He went from 140 to 180, bench 175 to 275, deadlift 185 to 405, in 4 months!. Those stretch marks are battle scars and medals!

Not sure what it is because it never hurts during the lieft. Usually feel it the next day or on the bikeride home. Biking usually hurts my back as well with the hunched over form of a road bike + a 20 lb backpack; but after a day of dead lifts, it sometimes can become intolerable when biking afterwards or up to the next day

Edit: I've earned a few stretch marks myself :D

and awesome thing is they're a tone that blends in well w/ my skin. I don't like how the dark purple ones look, but mine are a light coconut color; goes very well w/ my skin tone

I'll touch on the subject of deadlifts (and sqauts for that matter). I have some disk issues. The disk between L5 and S1 tends to flair up a lot, but ONLY when I'm not activily lifting. As long as do deadlifts and squats the pain stays away. Weird but I guess it's a good curse!

Dead Lift is a pretty dangerous lift, it locks your central nervous system and can fuck up your back asap if done wrong.

Trying to decide if 100% unfamiliar road is worth saving a couple miles

Fucking ecology lab is at brooker creek tomorrow. My usual commute is 12 miles. I'll have to do this tomorrow though

    Spoiler: show

Been hit 3 times, but none of them on major roads/highways; so 100% avoid rate on roads with more than one lane.

and haven't been hit in 3 years lol.

To be fair though while one road is unfamiliar, the one that is familiar sucks balls to bike on. It's my usual road (12 miles of it, then the other 19 are added to that to get to the lab site), and there's a lot of construction going on. Not sure how much further that continues up the road after school

Lost 33 pounds since April 8th by just eating right. Now that I'm around 230 and feeling better overall, I wanted to try running since I was active in track and cross country during high school. Started the couch to 5k program on monday and did my first jog. My quads are absolutely on fire, to the point where I'm basically limping up and down stairs (mostly down hurts the most). My question is, it's time to go do my second run, but should I wait? I know I'm not in good shape, but I feel like this pain might be something that should let up a little before I strain them again.

Is this normal and should I just continue with the jogs?

Start with walking, jumping right away with jogging is awful on your joints.

Thanks. The program has you walk for 5 mins to warm up, then alternating 60s jogs and 90s walking. But i'll take your advice and maybe just start off a week or two with brisk walking

Research joint health supplements if you're a big boy/girl. Glucosamine works wonders for joint health, but don't listen to some guy on a forum, like I said do some research.

So I'm finally jumping in this shit.

I'm 31 and 282 pounds currently. Was 324 a year ago. Through eating better and having a regular gym routine I've lost 42 pounds. I've gone from being able to run less than an eighth of a mile to being able to run a solid half mile at a time but currently only able to run up to 1.25 miles total a day. I'm also playing DDR(inb4 nerd) at the arcade 3 times a week for about an hour at a time for extra cardio.

On my running days I usually split up my half miles with body weight exercises. 12 squats, 12 pushups, 30 second planks, 20 lunges(10 each leg), 20 jumping jacks, 20 crunches, all x4.

My question, is do you guys have any advice? Anything I can do to increase my fat loss? I feel like I'm getting smaller but my weight isn't going down as quickly as it did when I was younger. Is this just due to age?

    Me currently:

Me in 2007 - I'd like to get back to this size.

edit: also I have been taking glucosamine regularly for a year. 1.5 grams a day.

Intermittent fasting. Easy lifestyle change once you get past the first three days or so. I've lost 6 pounds over two weeks so far.

Speaking of which, hoping the fitness gurus here can enlighten me. I've been pretty strict with my diet, making sure I eat just enough to fill my nutrient needs. I'm doing IF with the 16/8 split. I weighed myself today and i actually gained two pounds. I'm certain I haven't increased my eating, in fact I've lessened it (almost too much, i started to get light headed the other day so im eating a bit more). Is this normal? I know weight can swing a few pounds but I didn't think it could happen on IF as much.

i actually talked with evan through messaging, and he told me that white potatoes are higher in the glycemic index making them awesome for post workout recovery. this diet is actually really, REALLY good as long as you're taking some kind of multivitamin and omega 3 supplement.

i actually wouldn't drink 2 shakes, but spend a little extra on meat and get my protein from whole foods. Costco has 10 lb bags of boneless, skinless chicken for cheap. to cut down, i need at least 14-15 lbs of meat a weak

scales are the devil. measure yourself in the mirror and see what you need to do lol. if your old pants are starting to get big, chances are you're doing it right. but a few lbs is incredibly sporadic. i can fluctuate up to 6 lbs of just water, food intake and whatnot and still look exactly the same

That ballin on a budget video was really good. Now that I'm single again I can cook and shop a bit more healthier and price conscious lol. I'd really like to get up around 210 this winter. I don't mind starting now!

IF + eating less in general (daily) + cardio = easy weight loss.
Hell, you dont even have to do cardio and youll still lose it easy, but it's recommended to still do some sort of cardio or resistance so your not chipping away at muscle too.

This is correct. I always weight myself in the morning before drinking anything. Over the past two weeks I have done Crossfit 5x a week and run ~30 miles a week at a 7:45 average pace while eating ~1,800 calories a day. I gained 3 pounds during the first week and am largely back at my starting weight, but my definition and overall physique has improved materially. I had taken a month off working out and my muscles were mega-sore and storing extra water during the recovery process; at least that's what I've read from multiple sources and it seems to make sense to me.

Finally got around to using my blnder yesterday, and had a shake with:

    1 scoop of protein
Couple of handfuls of frozen berries
    ~250g of greek yoghurt
3 ice cubes and about 100ml of water to thin it out

Tasty, fairly low in calories (probably around 300?), ~35g of protein. However, i'm not really sure what i can add to it to boost the calories. I'm fairly certain i'm going to need a few more very soon as my training gets a bit tougher. Can anyone recommend some good calorie boosters for shakes?
