Milk and bananas are my pick for upping the calories. Replacing the water with milk and adding a banana will up that by ~150 calories.
If I really want to up the cals, Peanut butter does a good job.

Well, something I've learned along the way. Give yourself about 3 cheat meals a week, works out to about a 85/15 ratio or something around that ballpark. Enjoy your cheat meals and don't feel guilty over eating them, having a 100% strict diet 24/7/365 often leads to binge eating which is much worse for your goals. Keep up the DDR, start walking until your joints can deal with the traction of running and good luck.
I guess I didn't format the original post well, but I've actually been running. If I split it up into an initial half mile, and two quarter mile segments with an eighth mile walk between segments, I have no problems. The track in the gym here at the university is a 1/8th mile track, so I'll usually walk 2 for warmup, run 4, walk 1, run 2, walk 1, run 2, walk 2 for cool down.
Swim if you want to do cardio and burn lots of calories, do compound lifts if you want to build muscle while lifting weights so you don't have all of the saggy skin that just doing cardio produces with massive amounts of weight loss.
Once I get a bit stronger I plan on lifting but I'm going to have to get someone to work with me on my form so I don't injure myself. I have a coworker who's military and he said he'd help me with it. I just need to make time for that.
And I am fucking awful at swimming. I realize that's just an excuse though.
A few years ago, I took a medication called phentermine for weight loss. I lost like 75 pounds in three months so I'm familiar with the excess skin. It's awful. To counteract that, you're suggesting I build muscle right? That doesn't actually shrink the skin though does it? Just fills it up with muscle?
You lift weights to get stronger. That's like saying I'm not flexible so I shouldn't do yoga. That's reason you do something is so you can get better at it.
Google Master Swim programs in your areaAnd I am fucking awful at swimming. I realize that's just an excuse though.

Sorry I meant when my body weight exercises are no longer providing a challenge.
I don't think it's possible to build up enough muscle to fill in the loose skin in my gut area. And that's pretty much the only area where I have it
Will probably have to have it cut off![]()
Anyone here do much Parkour? I've been messing around with it a bit on my own to make exercise more fun/interesting, but there's not a whole lot of really good places I've found to play and climbing the house is only so much fun. What do others here do?
I started working out and doing pushups and shit and have been seeing pretty good gains all over my body. 2 days ago I tried to work another muscle group other than my chest during my push ups and my right scapular muscles have been kicking my butt ever since. It got so bad that I can't sleep on a pillow of any kind and I'm stuck writhing through the night instead of sleeping. It's pretty stiff too. And hurts on my back and the corresponding ventral part of my body when I suck in air. Do I want to rest it and let it heal? Or keep it limber and stretch it through yoga? My main concern is moving through this and being as strong and stronger when it's healed. I would prefer not to let it diminish my gains today/tomorrow if it is at all possible. Thanks, BG.
@80 lbs (and a fairly wide grip for me)
Foam Rollers are your friends. Also resting your body and letting it repair would be in your best interest. Resting won't diminish your gains unless your sitting on your ass for a week or two with no activity. Giving yourself a 3 day break every once in a while will be a boon in achieving your goals.

How do I use a foam roller? I realize I could google this but I like you guys.
Roll over the parts that hurt, until they don't hurt anymore. Foam rolling in a nutshell
Thanks!
No problem, it's gonna suck at first but then you'll learn to love it, then eventually you'll graduate to the softball/baseball. I always foam roll before crossfit, it's the best thing ever.
So I've noticed the majority of my fat loss is coming from my legs. Is there a way to target specific areas for fat loss or is it simply full body and I'm not noticing it as much elsewhere?
