I'm no chef, but if my dinner isn't chipotle or fish, it's frozen boneless chicken breast. I make it as painlessly as possible
    Preheat 375
    Foil up a baking sheet
Sprinkle seasoned salt and then whatever I happen to grab first. Currently either that montreal steak seasoning or lemon pepper seasoning
    Bake 45 minutes from frozen
Hot sauce, sometimes add guacamole if I have some and want the day to be awesome.
Typically I'm not picky about foods touching, but I'll keep green beans or broccoli on a separate plate, away from the guac and hot sauce combo.

This should be taking note that whether 2300-2500 is the rested metabolism or after the you have added the weekly activities workout. If you exercise 6-7hours a week, you should be still able to lose any weight by taking 2500 calories per day, by considering your height and weight. And more importantly this will also depends on your age, unless you are over 40 then 2300 to maintain sound more reasonable.

I'm also interested in any chicken recipes people may have. These are a few I do currently:

Hunter's chicken - I thaw the chicken out for around 7-8 hours. Wrap in bacon, usually 1.5 slices per large chicken breast covers nicely. Oven cook for around 30 mins, take it out and sprinkle a bit of cheese on top, put it back in for a couple of minutes to melt. Serve up and add BBQ sauce.

Chicken and chorizo pasta bake - Doesn't really matter how the chicken is cooked, I guess you could oven cook it and then cube it, but I just cube it and throw it in the wok for just under 10 mins for speed. Time the pasta so that it finishes cooking at the same time as the chicken. You could also throw the chorzio in the wok with the chicken for a few minutes to cook it a bit, but i usually just put it in the oven later.
Once they're both done, grab a bowl (I have a big oval dish for pastas) add some of your sauce to the bottom to prevent sticking, then layer pasta/chicken/chorizo/cheese if you want it, repeatedly. Put it in the oven at a low-mid heat for around 5 minutes.

Chicken and bacon wrap - Really quick and easy option for lunch if you cook the chicken the night before. Shred the chicken, add to the wrap. Cook off a couple rashers of bacon, add it in. Add in any salad/sauces. You'll need big tortillas if you're using a full breast, as i made one yesterday and barely got everything in it.

Mexican chicken wraps - A dinner option rather than the lunch above. I cook off the chicken in the wok as normal with a seasoning, add in peppers/onion/whatever once its finished cooking for a few minutes. Best part about this meal is the addition of spicy rice. I can buy frozen packets of rice here with some veg already added in and a seasoning, and theyre cheap. Lettuce, salsa, cheest etc if you want it. This is my favourite post-gym meal at the moment, very easy and quick to do. I can squeeze 3 wraps out of : a frozen bag of rice (think theyre about 75g?), a couple of small chicken breasts, a red pepper, 1/4-1/2 an onion.

    Quick question..

I've been pretty consistently dropping (with some exceptions) weight this year, but I may be plateauing some (which really feels more like when I go up/down within the same range). Quite obviously know the first step is taking time to slow down and tweak the diet a bit.

But I had another question too: Anyone think it's worth it to maybe take a week off lifting? I don't think I've done that in..uh, a few months. Closest I came was gone from a Thursday - Tuesday, but in both respective weeks I still managed to lift 3 times. Funnily enough when I was on that vacation (and it felt like I was eating out a lot more..) I'd dropped some.

Just curious on other people's views on that. The hardest thing for me to do is *not* go to the gym to lift.

Yeah I figure around 2300ish, I'm only 30 and I work out 3 days a week for about 1-2hrs with a pretty rigorous workout and always make sure to run up the 3 flights of stairs at work as many times as I can and never use the elevators.

Personally I wouldn't take any time off from the work outs, but that's mainly because I'm the type of person that has to stay consistent with my routine. If I don't it becomes difficult for me to get back into it. You can always just mix things up a bit instead of taking the time off, do a few different lifts, do 3x10's instead of 5x5's, stuff like that.

Funny you mention the vacation and losing weight too, I notice I always drop pounds when on vacation whether I'm working out consistently or not. I just don't eat as much due to always having to go to restaurants, maybe it was the same for you. While the food is much worse for you, you're getting less calories overall.

Just my 2 cents, good luck with further weight loss!

Edit: Also, thank you guys for the recipes you've posted, much appreciated. If you guys are looking for a way to make your chicken a little more juicy tasting without using BBQ sauce, can try pesto. I generally make my own pesto then smother that shit on my chicken, its fucking delicious.

Could've been it. Though I was staying with someone and had access to food at "home", but yeah, probably eating less + much less stress.

This is a good point actually. Every time I thought about taking a week off before I just swapped up and varied the routine (mine's nothing fancy, just the big compound lifts with martial arts/yoga thrown in), but at this point I'm really wondering if I should just let my body completely rest, rather than just doing a tweak here and there. It's not terribly hard for me to get back to my routine after some time off..

About a month into Starting Strength, I hadn't switched to power cleans so I was deadlifting 3 times a week. At first it was OK since I started low, but eventually that became ridiculously exhausting and I ended up taking a week off from all lifting and it was great. I replaced the time I would have been in the gym with some additional research into form and such. I did this research on the days and at the time I would have been in the gym, so I kept the habit of it being gym time. Been doing this stretch for nearly 2 months now and not sure when my next break will be, but if it's like last time, I'll know it when I feel it.

If you haven't taken a break in months, a 1-2 week break would be a good idea.

I think I broke my foot today. Wasn't hurting that badly earlier, but it's killing me now that I've taken a nap.

Had the bar set up 10 -> 35 -> 10 -> 35. My friend and I were using diff weights and was easier to swap between them with odd amounts like that on the bar.

I thought it was 35 -> 10 -> 35, so the first plate I grab is the other 35 and I start to pull it off the bar and boom, I see a flash/stars, look down and there's the 10 lol.

It sucks, leg day is tomorrow. Any recommendations for things that don't involve the foot? Pissed I can't do squats or even leg press. At the moment, all I can think of is leg curl and leg extensions

No state insurance option or anything? I'm sure Florida has plenty of broke people.

Go to the county hospital and throw yourself at the mercy of some med student to at least have it checked. When I fractured my pinky toe I was basically told to rub some dirt and just walk it off.

You're like 40 min from me! I'm in LA county as well.

I know you don't have insurance but if the swelling doesn't go down or the pain doesn't subside you should really get it checked out. it may be a fracture or a bad bruise(they can take time to appear) but if it's broken it not being put in a cast can fuck with your walk for the rest of your life.

Also, lolwiki but you can check this out tomorrow after resting the foot tonight - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ottawa_rules

Lastly, put some ice on that shit and keep it elevated. Good luck with everything
