Anyone use ketone test strips? According to the strips I'm one above trace which is the sweet spot supposedly. The test was also diluted from my water intake at the gym.

Interesting article on the effects of using a sauna and raising core body temperature for set periods of time outside of aerobic workouts.
I just started running again after 3 years. I am trying to get rid of a beer belly that has gotten out of control. Doing 25 min on the treadmill and 35 on the bike.
I was at 220 6 days ago and today after my cardio I am at 208. I try to keep my heart rate at 155 to 160. My goal is to be able to do an hour on the treadmill and eliminate the bike.
I need some advice on separating my workouts to cardio one day and lifting the next. I am tall and don't want to turn into a stick. I have never been big into weight lifting but I do know the basics.
Do what your doing. Just keep your heart rate at Fat burning levels. Swimming is also a wonderful way to get back into the swing of things.
Also yoga
Anyone tried reverse grip triceps movements? I feel like it hits the tried a little better but wanted to get some feedback. I want more horse shoe, or outer leg.
Compounds? Dips and CGBP. For assistance? Skullcrushers, cable pushdowns, kickbacks, and overhead extensions. Joocy triceps in less than a year, guaranteed.
Isolating the tricep is easy. Isolating the three heads, one of which is biarticulate, is rather difficult and generally not done unless you're BBing or wanting to be That Guy.
I mostly do compounds. I think that's why my arms are lagging so I've started doing more isolation on the arms.
That's what assistance lifts are for. Do the compounds for broad gains and CNS, assistance on whatever part of your body you feel is lacking (spoilers: all of it). I'm a sucker for deltoids and back so my assists tend to end up being OHP, lat raises, reverse flyes, DB rows, Kroc rows, etc.
I can't stand kickbacks, just never really liked them and read a lot of people bashing on them as well. I usually just stick with dips, close grip, and overhead press. I need to get back to doing skullcrushers but they wear on my elbows. Watched a vid by Ripp going over a better way to do them and alleviate elbow stress so gonna try that.
Also I can't seem to break below 220. Been going on at 1700~ calorie diet at 5'11 for past 3 weeks and just hanging around 220 still. Going to do more cardio I guess and rework my diet.
Skullcrushers can wear on the elbows but often a change to a EZ bar/DBs and stopping slightly above the head and not going to the nose/forehead will make them much more doable. Higher reps bla bla bla progressive overload doesn't work here bla bla bla rotate the lift out after 4-8 weeks bla bla bla save more elbows.
Any word on the competition?
Starting today personally.
Damn injuries have regressed my results and its about time to kick it up a notch. Looking to be in the close to, but ideally in or in better shape than the end of the last competition one month from now. Friend's birthday (who is always supportive of my fitness endeavors) was yesterday (april 20th) and mine is may 20th; so going to see what I can do between now and then.
I started at the beginning of April; thought about waiting to see what happened, but didn't want to throw off my schedule. I'm already down 8lbs and 2% BF, but figure maybe if it did eventually start up I could just end my entry a month early or something (depenging on when it starts).
Looking at my pics from last year and I miss it lol. Fuck this double digit body fat shit!
Visiting friends in NY this week, kicking diet up a notch and getting back into gym on Monday - looked at my picture from last year. Super glad I'm not that big now, ready to look back at today and be super glad even more
So I went to the health centre to check my stats. Still gaining weight, albeit very, very slowly. Which is fine, I don't get the whole bulking up -> losing weight. Currently: 146.4 and 3.1k calories @ 15% bf. I've also incorporated yoga, I need the corrective exercises because my posture was fucked up and was messing my overall exercising routine. I've noticed my posture has improved quite a bit, my head and shoulders used to lean forward and had the rounded spine going on. I went from 5'6" to 5'7". An inch is an inch, dude <_<
If you deal w/ numbers/code/clients all day, then yoga -> meditation is a godsend.
Good luck w/ the competition!
I put up 225x3 on my incline bench today, PR, i feel nagging shoulder injuries have set me back quite a bit. Or the last 3-4 weeks of 100-300 pushups a day M-F.... fuck pushups.... YOU ONLY EVER NEED TO DO ONE.... THEN YOUR UP AND YOU CAN'T PUSH UP ANY FURTHER.
Not sure I can keep up this year. Computer just took a crap so now all I have is my phone to use for now. Not gonna happen at this rate sorry guys.
Check your PMs.
